My computer has encounterd a strange problem. When I switch on the computer it works for a few minutes then it just freezes. It just doesn't start anymore. If I switch it agin after an hour the same thing happens. I checked my harddisk and the RAM and everything seems to be ok. Does anyone have any solution for me?

Have you checked your fans? Sounds like it could be overheating. If you don't have a virus, then overheating would be my next suggestion. Be careful with that, once it starts to overheat and freeze up or crash, your hard drive is in danger. Check the fan in the power supply, any case fans and the CPU fan. Fans are cheap to replace, your computer is not.

The most common reason a problem like that is happening is because your computer is overheating. Open up your computer, and see how much dust is on the CPU, if it's covered in dust, then your computer is probably overheating and shutting off because of that. All you need is something like compressed air to clean it out, which usually costs about 10$ from an electronics store, or get it checked out at a smaller computer store, which they usually do for about 20$ (around me, at least) and they'll be able to find out exactly what the problem is.

I really am technically challenged but I would first start off by: -Are you able to use your antivirus program to scam to see if any type of virus is present and also run a scam for possible spyware. Currently I am using 2 anitvirus/spyware programs along with FireFox [AVG and Malwarebytes both are FREE]and they seem to be keeping me up and running pretty smoothly. -Check for 'free hard disk space'? -Have you recently installed anything new...software or any downloads? Hopes this helps some...Good Luck...8o)

Things I have to do is checking my fan and listening my PC-speaker if there was beep once then I continue to test until get into the Windows, if no beep I will check my RAM. Make sure your slots not closed by the dust, it can cause some problem.

Maybe your processor or your mother board have a problem.
