Dose your smoke detector go off at random?

I have one installed in the kitchen, and of course its important to have a working smoke detector, in our home or apartment, but I have to be honest my smoke alarm is a little a annoying becuse it go's off at even the slightest bit of smoke like if I'm doing a lot of cooking and if theres the tiniest bit of smoke in the air in my kitchen the smoke alarm will go off, and I end up having to wave the smoke away with something until it stops, and I cant stand extreme or sudden loud noise, anyway dose your smoke detector go off at random too?
