As to me here, I have a lot of mosquitos in my area. I live in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India and its like living in hell when mosquitos are biting you like anything. I can't concentrate on my work. Right now, they are litterally not letting me participate in the discussions. What about you people? Do you experiece the similar way?

I hate mosquitoes. We have them in summer and there's always a danger of contracting a dangerous disease that they may be carrying. In this area it's a serious form of encephalitis that they may carry. In some locations where the population gets heavy, they spray to cut down on the mosquitoes. I understand that mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that we exhale. That's not a great help, because you can't stop breathing just to avoid them. There is a device that they sell that emits carbon dioxide to attract them and then collects them in a bag that you throw away. I wish I had one of those.

Yes, we too have them in summer. I did not know that they are attracted to the carbon dioxide that we exhale. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Fortunately, I stay in 3rd floor of the building and there are no open water bodies near by. This is the reason I feel that there are very few mosquitos I find at my home. In my view, the population of mosquitos directly depends upon the cleanliness followed in the area. I personally observed that in those places where the water is stagnated or where there are many small ponds, you will find many mosquitos.
