It is known to me that we have to sleep for six to eight hours. But I get only three to four hours to sleep apart form my busy schedule. Will it shorten my life span? How many hours do you sleep? At the same time, people say that i snore loudly while sleeping. Do you snore? Is it because I sleep less at night? Please suggest me?

Hello Mahanjili.I think you sleep too shorten.Maybe you don't feel the effect now but someday, your body will be protest. It's not healthy.I suggest you to use your time althought for a momentto take a rest.Yes,your life span will shorten because your stamina will be weak.so,you cannot do your work.Ever you think to looking for relaxive work?I'm sorry. But healthy is expensive guest.some people told that tiredness could make us snore while sleep. So,take time to rest guest.

Due to my very busy schedules, I don't get enough sleep everyday because sometimes I work for 16hours a day. If I start at 3pm, I end up at 7am, so I have to sleep from 7am up to 2pm. The problem is, I cannot sleep well in the morning that I only get 5 hours of sleep. I don't know if having lesser sleeping time could shorten our life span, but it could lead to stress, which is very bad for our health since we all know that human beings need 8 hours of sleep everyday.

i have heard that not getting 8 hours of sleep does shorten your life span.. if you snore and dont get much sleep you may want to get checked for sleep apnea to see if you have that.. its where you will just stop breathing while you sleep and you dont know it but you will snore and wake up for no reason and never feel rested etc.. a lot of people think you have to be overweight but thats not always the case..

I sleep for more than 8 hours now since it is summer. But when school starts, I sleep an average of 3-5 hours a night. I am not sure if this will shorten your life span but I know this will have an effect on your sleep cycle during your old age. There is this thing called "sleep debt". You get it when you sleep less than 6-8 hours. For example, you slept just 5 hours tonight, you have 1 hour added to your sleep debt. Sleeping more than 8 hours the next night does not lessen your sleep debt. It just adds up. When you get older, you will feel its effect when you get tired more easily and you sleep longer and more often. Personally, I do not snore except when I am really tired. I believe snoring is caused by difficulty in breathing while sleeping. Maybe when you sleep, your lungs and esophagus are positioned in a certain way that causes you to snore. If you are overweight, this can be the cause of your snoring. As far as I know, sleeping less has no effect on whether you snore or not.
