So my DVD player just broke like this morning and I was surfing the web looking for the next one when I saw a blu ray disc player. I don't know if I should buy another dvd player or a blu ray disc player. Are blu ray disc players alot better than DVD players? I need pros, cons, and any additional info! Hit me with some info!

With Blu-Rays the picture is supposedly a lot clearer than DVDs. I, personally, can never tell the difference, but the only problem is that there ISN'T much different at all unless you have a big screen HDTV. For the normal 19" - 22" the Blu-Ray looks just like DVDs (or that's what me and all of my friends think, plus I've heard the same opinion from some other people). Plus Blu-Ray players are more expensive. DVD players don't seem to have many cons as they have been around for longer and it also costs less to buy a DVD than a Blu-Ray. If you do have a good-sized HDTV, then you might look into a Blu-Ray, though. It does seem to have better quality (my friend prefers it on his huge tv), but for me, personally, I can't tell the difference unless the two are playing side by side like in the stores, and even then I can barely tell. But that could just be me.

I've never had a problem with DVDs that made me want to switch over to Blu-Ray. Personally, I'd take DVD over Blu-Ray, just because it's good enough to do what it needs to.
