Would you Quit?

I'm not terribly fond of my part-time job, but it pays the bills. Recently, my boss (who doesn't have me on the books) has been cutting my hours back. I was already struggling to pay my bills, and with cut hours, I'm not sure I'll be able to pay my student loans this month. My boss canceled work Thursday, Friday, and now today. Despite the terror of being out of work long-term, I am seriously thinking about quitting this job. What do you guys think?

Personally if you believe in Prayer your best bet is to Pray about this situation and let God guide you in what you should do. I know that there are times you really do need to weigh the Pros and Cons on situations like this, but if you allow God to guide you even if you decide to let this job go, everything will be alright. Just might need to also look now for something better as well. Wishing you the Best.

Thank you for posting! I have prayed over this, and my parents have as well. The employment in my area is beginning to pick up now, and I have put in 7 applications in the past 2 weeks. Hopefully I will hear something soon. Thanks again!

You should start thinking of an alternative way to make money. I would. Cheers!!

Since there isn't an abundance of jobs out there I would hold off a bit and maybe start looking elsewhere before quitting. Have you talked with your boss about him or her cutting back your hours? It is even harder to hold on when you don't like the job anyway. Good luck to you, I hope you find something you like and can earn what you need.

With the economy, it IS really hard to find jobs right now. I've been applying to other places for a couple of weeks now. Unfortunately, I have tried to talk to my boss, but doesn't seem to understand the concept of money and bills. She doesn't do her own accounting and has never had to, so she doesn't know how much rent or bills actually are anymore. She thought I was exaggerating when I said I didn't have any money for Christmas presents.

Unless the job is dragging you down mentally or physically keep it while you search for another one. I know jobs are hard to find now and something is better than nothing. You may be able to talk to your loan officer and see if you can just pay the interest on your loan this month without risking having your credit rating effected or considered in default.

if the same thing happened to me, i would look and apply for another job that pays better but i will not quit the current job until i got another. though the income from the current job is not enough, it is still better than being unemployed and without any source of income. you'll only have to search for some ways to earn more money to make ends meet.
