The wthing that never should accure, happen to me this morning. I oversleept. I got a bit late to work. I never do that.my day has been late all day. I have tried to run the time back, but did not manage. Lucky me, I only live five minutes away from my work. Also, that we were three and not two that are usual. I did not panic, but the day was not to god for me, I was tired and still are. There will be an early evening in bed for me tonight... There are so many that are depended on me showing up at work, and in time. As I said, I was lucky this morning, since there were two others there to start with the morning work...(work as a assistance nurse)But if there had been one waiting for me, It would be a panic for me. What do you do when you overlseep and come late for work?

Getting up late, especially for work is a horrible feeling! I've only done it a couple of times, but it always throws off the whole day. I figure there is no sense in getting super stressed about it though. Once you're late, there isn't much to do to fix it, so admit your guilt, say you're sorry and try REALLY hard not to do it again.

Naughty Anetteh! Oversleeping? That's not good for a nurse like you. Especially a nurse in the Geriatrics department. But let go... mistakes do happen. And though a medical myself, I oversleep sometimes.. work can get way too tiring! And I don't think I have yet learned a cure for oversleeping. Anyway, prevention is better than cure! And if I ever get up late, I never go to work, that is when I was a student at school. Or if I reach late for work, I would tell that the bus missed me. That's not a lie, but everyone knew that bus never missed me; but I missed the bus!

If I was like it was before have to take the bus for work, I would be very very late when I oversleep...lol. There is not many buses go in the mornings...when my son oversleep...he take a bus at 10:30. Now, people depending on me, can not wait until then...but since I work so near I am soon at work to do my job. However, I was happy today since we were three, I did not have to have the supervision of the medication. The only thing I had in my pocket today was the mobile...

I am really not sure if I have been late for work. I try not to be and if I am I always call first. Now I don't have a job right now but the same would happen, I'd call and tell them I'd be just that few minutes late. Actually I do think I was late once, but that just by accident if I remember correctly. I'd of course apologize that I was late, not sure if I did that the one time I remember being late, but I think that I clocked in and they left in a hurry! lol!

My son woke me and asked, mum are you sick, or have you oversleept...I replyed, darn......went out for a smoke and phoned my work just to tell them I was on my way, but a little bit late...lucky me, they are so nice and said it was OK. I had to have some medicine before I could go but I was at work by 7.15, normally I start 7. My son said, lucky I woke you, I was not shore if it was your day of or if you should work...I wil give him a hug when he come home...he went of to school when I was on the phone with my cow worker...if he had not woke me up..it would be ebarising, since my cow workers would have phoned instead...

Good thing your son did wake you then because I know I don't like the embarrassment of getting called by a boss for any reason, and especially if I couldn't mask that I had been asleep! Luckily for you they are so nice though, and I am sure that they appreciated the call in! You didn't get started too late, but I know how that snooze button is tempting and how if your nto awake enough you think "oh it's okay to be late!" lol. Well Happy Working!

Good thing you live near your workplace. Some people aren't as lucky as you are. My uncle lives very far away from his workplace like around 30 to 45 minutes away. And when he oversleeps, he dashes off immediately sometimes even without a shower or brushing his teeth. Good thing his bestfriend covers for him when this happens.

yes, it can be almost kaos when your workplace are not withing five or ten minutes. Before I got my job as I have no, I was working in town, that is 20 minute with bus. However, there is no many busses during mornings...lol that would be a kaos for me, since I had to bike or walk...since the next bus is to late and the half day would passed by...your uncle has god friends.

when i was working, if i know im gonna be late, i call our office and inform them i am going to be late and why... it really is upsetting sometimes when that happens especially when you really dont mean it and you dont want to be late. people in at work sometimes thinks we are getting lazy thats why we are late. good thing for you no one was waiting for you...that would really be something to be worried about. and you live close to your place of work.

yeh,I have some great cow workers...I did call them up and told them I was going to be a litle late so it was no worrie about that. But I was upset with my self. I never do this, never ever oversleep. Even my cow workers said that it is not normal for me to be overlseeping. However, I am worried that I am going to do it sometimes...but never do it. Perhaps, I have been online to much...but what can you do when all the competions are going on...everywhere....and when you win, you want more......

well my friend i can understand how it feels when you over slept and you are really late for something. more over the monday mornings are the most challenging ones as far as i see. they are the mornings when you dont want to ge up and most of the time you end up getting late. :P and also i have seen that when you are not late, everything is one time. if you are waiting for a bus it will come quickly. you will never forget anything while leaving. but then that is not the challenge, the challenge comes when you are late. at that time you are bound to forget something or the other. you are bound to get late for the bus and the next one never comes on time. these are few things that i am sure you will also agree.

hehe, on mondays many people I guess rather stay home than go to work. I have been working the hole weekend friday, saterday, sunday, monday and tuseday...after this hard working pass I am going to have five days of. Many people I guess party all weekends when they are of and then when work starts at monday you might not feel to well...hehe, I can say that I have not being partying, since I worked the hole weekend...I normaly never oversleep to be late for work. This was the first time. I take my bike to work, only five minutes from home. That do not worrie me. But sometimes we are only two in the mornings and if anyone of us should overlseep, and be late, the other one can not really do much and have to wait for the other to arrive...anyway, it is a brand new day and I am up on time...lol

I tend to wake up at the same time every morning whether i use an alarm clock or not. I have used alarm clocks for so long, and have set them to ring at the same time, that I'm now trained to wake up at that time, even when I forget to set it. That sounds nice, if you worry about getting up on time, but it's really annoying when you are allowed to sleep in. On days when I don't have to be at work, I find it difficult to sleep in, since I'm "programed" to wake up at the same time as any other day. Being late for work is something of a problem for some people more than others. Obviously it depends on what level of supervision you have at work. Some people are watched all the time, while others are given more freedom when it comes to that. Then there are those who are self-employed. At first that sounds great as far as sleeping in goes. I was self-employed for 5 years once, and let me say, it isn't always a good thing when it comes to having freedom to sleep in, when you should be doing work. You need strong self-discipline. You may not get fired if you're self-employed and you're chronically late for work, but your work may suffer to the point where you can't make it any more. So ultimately, it can have the same effects as being fired.

I normaly wake up before the alarm set of. But I have been sick with a nast cold for some weeks now and it has influenced my right ear so I do not hear OK. Therefore I have not heard when alarm turned on. I can not do so much about now...as now, when I am responding to your respons, it is brand new day and I woke up before the alarm this morning. It will be a normal day for me toay.... Our bos has had a week of, so we are pretty much on our own. But she is back today. I am not the person who oversleep so this was one time only...it was my first time to be honest. And I am glad that I have such nice and great cow workers...lol And none of the eldre was sufferd from me being a bit late...I hade the time to shower two eldre men where I am responsible for. After today, I have five days of and probably will do nothing els but just rest and relax. I work fulltime...so I work almost every day...but this week is the best. And in four weeks I have five weeks of summer holiday....lots of rests there.

When I oversleep, I wonder why it happened. And as I am thinking of the whys, I double check my alarm clock to see if it didn't go off for a reason. Although I really know I just plain slept through it because I stayed up to darn late the night prior. And if I had a scheduled appointment I missed, or it was a work day, I try to figure out just what to say when I call to make my excuses. Should I dare tell them the truth? Nah...My dog ate the alarm clock. Oh that won't work. My old naughty Australian Shepard Ceaser, who ate everything, had passed away long ago. And all my friends and associates were aware of that. So what do I say? Think....Think. I know. I will tell them my car broke down. OOPs I walk most everywhere I go. OH Well. I guess I will just have to tell the truth. Thats all. Then I will have to make plans to prevent this from happening again. So I call my sister who is never ever late for anything. And I ask her to give me a wakeup call. I know deep down how I enjoy staying up late. She tells me. "If you don't answer the phone when I ring it, I will ring your neck". So I go to bed early and wake up with the alarm. LOL! Caroline

hello anetteh! I was late for work yesterday and yes I did overslept. My time at work is 6 in the morning, and I woke at at 5 am already, the time that I should be leaving the house so I won't be late. I prepared really fast, took my shower, didn't eat my breakfast and woke up my husband so he would drive me to work. Good thing I was just late for 3 minutes. our trip was really fast because we use motorcycle. Lately, I have been late at work.

Hello anetteh!!! Well nowadays I am enjoying the holidays just after exam, and so, I don't have to take the tension of waking up early for the college. I don't have any important work to do really and so I am just relaxing nowadays. But it is not the same if I have to go to the college. I have to reach the college before 7 AM. So, you can imagine the consequence for waking up late. Nowadays I sleep at least till 7, but in those days I have to wake up as early as possible. But most of the time I used to be late hehe...I become so lazy in the morning, I open my eye but can't get out of the bed. Increase 5 minutes more in the alarm, and when it rings and again five minutes more finally I become late in waking up lol...And then I hurry to get prepared, go to toilet, brush my teeth, have my breakfast and then rush away lol. And I mostly become 5 minutes late in the class. I know this is the bad habit, but I try not to do that in the coming semester. But for now upto about 10 days, I have enjoy the bed hehe... Waking up late, always hampers our daily work. We also become so lazy and feels tired waking up late. Also I am sleeping late in the night at about 1 am or 2 am and that's why for now waking up at 8 seems to be fine for me currently. Happy mylotting...

I am a university student at present and recently I often oversleep and come late for my lessons. Luckily, it is not a big deal to skip classes in university. Therefore, when I get up late, I just hang around in my dormitory and do my own things, in most cases, surfing the internet...

I don't believe I have ever been late for work at the current job that I am at. The advantage of it is that it is really close to my house, just five to ten minutes away at the most. I have set an alarm on my phone to wake me up to my favorite song and that usually helps get me up in the mornings. Thankfully I haven't been able to sleep through the alarm. I on the other hand know of a friend who she puts three alarms in order for her to wake up. I try my best to plan out my day in order to make sure that I am not late on things that are important. I do rely on work in order to get paid, so if I don't work I don't get paid and can't get my bills taken care of so it is of importance to me. That is why I make sure I sleep early and get plenty of rest to not oversleep.

Since this was the first time I did oversleep, as many today said to me, it is not normal for me to oversleep and be late for work...rather the opposite...I am at work about 6.30. Do not start until 7, but I like to be on time...lol. I have also my alarm set on my phone and I also have a radio timer playing high music to wake me up. But, for some reason I did not hear those this morning. And was still a sleep when my son woke me and asked if I was OK. If he had not woken for him self, we both would have oversleept and he also would have been late for school. But lucky...I was only 15 min late...and it only took me a couple of minutes to get there...and I did phone to tell my cow workers I was gonna be a little bit late...
