Do your cats ever fight over toys or food?

Sometimes, my cats get very territorial over their food and toys. For instance, my Orange Cat loves playing with his skitter ball and his adoptive mom does too. They get into play fights over that toy. Other times, my big cat chases the little ones off the food or ends up getting chased off by the little ones. I guess it's a give and take kind of cat society. They seem to have it all worked out. Do your cats ever fight over favorite toys or food?

Yes, my cats always fight over food but I talk to them when they fight. Some times I gave then separately.

The cats on my house tend to kick other cats away from the house...they get jealous.....they don't want to share I guess...

ALL.. THE.. TIME. if a new toy comes in the house, they all want firsts. even though they have a literal box full of toys.we got a squeak mouse with a chip in it that makes the noise and a fight broke out eventually over that.then one will steal a toy from the other and purposely sit on it. the girl cat hovers over the food to keep the two boys out long after she's eaten,so i have to shoo her when i catch her doing it.she won't let them eat otherwise.

Yes my cats have arguments over who's near one another when it comes to food. Having 10 cats, some get along and play with each other and others steer away from one another so they get along for the most part. They don't like the newbies but they know that they're not going anywhere after a while and start to accept it. Especially when they get fixed like they are. LMBO!

Hi beauty, My cats don't fight over food as they get their food bowls together. but my Tom always try to jump on my female cat Baby and she'll have none of it and ends up with fur flying, till I tell them enough is enough and tells Tom off for bing a bully, but most times they are ok and gets on well together. I have six cats they all have different characters at feeding time.My oldest cat is like the boss frail in her old age she maybe but she lets the others know she is first, even though they have a constant supply of food all day if she wants the food and any other cat is there you will always see them more for her.As far as playing they all have their mad days when they all want to play, but there are a few fights if they run into each other and one of the older cats are not in the mood, but they soon get over it.My cats seem to have their own sleeping places in the house and no other cat would go to the other ones sleeping area.Happy mylotting.

When we had Mysti and Milo in the USA, I dont think they ever fought. They eventually got used to eachother (Milo was my steo-son's cat and would go home with him soon after he went home when summer was over). They weren't really friendly at first, but they eventually became friends, and learned how to share. They never really fought, and that was a blessing.

I haven't had more than one cat in years. But when I did, they didn't fight over food. But they did get into trouble together. When I had two kittens(they were sisters)I came home one and there was toilet paper from one end of my place to the other. I found both of the pint sized trouble makes hanging from the curtains in the living room. Their claws had gotten caught in the fabric. Still have no idea how long they hung there waiting for rescue.

Two cats - I think its helpful if you want multiple cats or pets to get bring them home together so they can grow together.
Well right now I just have one cat, so I dont have to worry about my cat fighting over food and attention, but years ago when I had two cats, yea they would fight a lot so much so that we meaning my family and I would have to keep them apart and now looking back I think that they had some sort of jealousy thing, going on between them, and I think that if I decide to get two pets in the future it might be better to get them together from the pet sore or shelter that way they'll be able to grow up together, and that might help to prevent any jealousy they might have.

Both of my dogs and c ats do, they like to fight over the toys and even some new snacks! It is very entertaining, my dog likes to bark at the toy and play with the new snacks like treating them toys.

Occasionally, yes. My kittens will at times fight over toys more so than food. Especially when it's a toy that isn't really a toy at all. They have more fun messing around with headbands that they have stolen from my dresser or a ruler from my desk!
