I am a writer. Because of this, I created a forum online so that I can meet other writers like me, share my articles and read theirs, exchange tips and advice, and things like that. Thats all it is, a forum. A bulletin board, for writers only. Anyway, after creating it, I told people about it. I posted it on here, and a few other places as well. I thought it would be great for other writers to join, and I couldn't wait. Well, so far only 2 people have joined it. On top of that, I get messages with people saying "I will join when more people are joined" well...how am I supposed to get people to join if everyone is waiting for more people to join??? Also, someone sent a comment that it will be hard to get other people to join because its hard enough getting people to join the paid sites. Why? I don't understand it. Theres no catch, its not a scam...why is it that everyone has to act that way? Why do I have to be offering money for someone to join a FREE website that is for writers, to help each other out? I even added a section where people can advertise their links on it without getting accused of spam. What more could you ask for? Well, I thought the forum was a good Idea. I know that I would enjoy a place for writers to be able to exchange ideas and share articles without getting spammed to death by people that aren't even interested in what they have to write about. But I guess I was wrong. Oh well...it was worth a shot. I guess my new forum isn't going to work out.

Hi queenlove, How about telling your fellow writers that you have a forum? I mean the real flesh and blood people you know. I am a writer too. But I write in Spanish as it is my native language. The only story I have translated into English is in an anthology made in the US. I have many writer friends: odd and crazy people tend to stick together. So I´m sure you also have that kind of friends so that you can get your forum online going. I do workshops in my country for people who want to write and I have also directed workshops for writers. That´s more a get together where we can read our writings and have them being critizised by our peers. Now in my country, writers don´t earn a living by writing. So we all do all sorts of jobs. I have given classes at the University, have directed workshops, have been jury for contests. I think you should give your forum a chance. But nothing is easy: it will take time. This is the first time I hear about your forum and I´m taking my time to answer you, as you can see. So maybe there are other people around: they´ll come by. How do I reach your forum, now? Take care and luck

I'm sorry your forum doesn't seem to be working out. How long have you had it available? Where is it? What is your requirements for joining? I love to write but I have never written anything that I consider worthy of publication. Would I be accepted? Have you tried getting the word out with other types of social media like twitter, facebook, etc? I think the problem is that you just haven't found the best audience yet. Good Luck.

Don't give up. Sometimes these things take a little time. I'm a writer too and I wish I could make myself spend more time writing. I guess I don't have my own PC and have to use the one in the office when I get the chance. And there's a million other reasons why I just can't seem ever to get down to the busy business of actually wring hard enough to sell something. Anyway, I'll ask for friendship on this site and my email address is " guyiluv@yahoo.co.uk " if, of course, you're interested. Regards.

Hello, friend. I think maybe the reader are not interested in the article you have written. What I mean is that maybe your article is about the technical or other things, but your read is interested in sports. So they don't want to jion. Just find some reader with the same interests. Have a good day.
