I just read that the 13 year old with cancer is back home with his mother. Since mom brought him back voluntary , there will be no charges. Now I guess the question is , can he still be treated or is it too late? What i thought was classic ? The doctor in this case said he was praying they would return.Maybe because I don't trust doctors but I thought that was odd for him to say and sad if it were true.Your thoughts?

I don't see anything sad about a doctor praying that the boy would come back so he could get the treatment that he so desperately needs, I think it is very heartfelt and honest and I admire him for saying it.

I thought it wasironic because if it weren't for views of religion, the kid wold have had the treatments,or better still the parents would have followed what the doctor said in the first place.

It depends on the patient whether he would like to have another treatment or not. It won't be too late to try for everything, rather than you just sit and keep wondering about what could be happened next. You'd better tried for another treatment if you found that the patient has the courage to do so. I don't trust Doctors too. That's why I always ask for second opinion from the social sites, from my friends, colleagues, families, from anybody else actually. Let me share with you about our commitment (me and my hubby) for the family we've built for this 3 years now. We have committed to each other that, if me or my hubby got a very serious illness, please do not move forward for any medical treatment, which usually costs a lot ... just take us back home. We don't want our family suffers because of trying to heal me or my hubby. Just put everything on God's hands ... we've tried our best, and let God do the rest. Cheers.

Instead of making the parents criminals just because they refuse treatment, they should respect their wishes. But here in the States if will never happen. what I think this story will do is every ultra religious family won't even go to the doctor.

Maybe the mother brought him back when she did BECAUSE it was too late. If the boy is determined enough not to have the treatment, then he might just have waited long enough so doctors coudln't have forced it upon him anyway. If someone was forcing me to do something against my will, that's exactly what I would do.
