Where are the vegetables?

I have yet another idea on how to get vegetables on the table. My oldest daughter and husband love veggies, I have no aversion to them I just won;t go out of my way to make them with dinner. The two younger ones are harder, I have to get creative...enter my spagetti sauce. Once again, I chop up onions, green and red peppers, carrots, celery, mushrooms and throw them into the sauce. Sometimes, I don't even chop them up and just add the frozen vegetables. The tomato sauce masks the taste so well that the kids don't even know what they are eating. It works with any kind of pasta with sauce. Lasagna turns out really well like this too. I'm always looking for new ideas on how to hide the vegetables or even just make them more appealing to the kids so don't be shy and share your ideas. Thanks and happy eating!

i don't understand why so many people have a hard time getting their children to eat veggies. when i was growing up we ate what mother put on the table & never said a word. my sons were basically raised the same way. what's the big deal?? children should not have the upper hand on what's for supper. we all have favorites but i think they should eat what is prepared.

I understand what you're saying as I was brought up the same way. However, I find that if I actually take the time to chop up vegetables, then they wind up as part of the dinner as opposed to making it as a seperate dish. So it's not so much as for the kids (yes, I know I said I hide them) because they do have to eat everything on their plate regardless, it just makes it easier if everything is all together. Also, by dinnertime, my tolerance level is pretty low for petty things such as "do I have to eat my peas"...it's just easier this way.
