Traggic accidents.

They happen every day, a child is crushed by a tv that was not bolted down, Mike Tysons daughter was killed by an electrical chord, Eric Claptons son jumped out of a window, Travolta's son died in a hotel room alone, all could have been avoided, but they were not for one reason or another. Since Claptons accident he has been an advocate in Large cities for windows that do not open in High rise apartments. Many good things come from these accidents, but that does not mean they should have happened. Accidents happen every day, it does not mean the parents were negligent in any way. It happens, mom has to go to the bathroom, the door bell rings, the phone needs to be answered or she is making dinner, a child gets injured it does not mean the parents deserved what happened. My heart breaks for Tyson, as much as you do or do not like him, why crucify him, why make his family feel worse about the accident by putting these things out there, why blame them for their daughters death.

I remember when people knew the difference between an accident and neglect. Now everything is somebody's fault and they're gonna pay!

I could not have said it better. what I love is when NON Parents speak up and say they should have been watching the child better. OMG really what if I have to go to the bathroom an my wonderful child decides to climb on top of the table and jump from there to the counter and in the process he hurts himself. I was in the freaking bathroom going pee. it can happen so fast and it does. Blaming the parent and pointing fingers is only going to make their pain much worse. Please just support them and be there for them. Do not say things like well you really should have been watching your child more closely.. really..
