I have offered to become my daughter's assistant troop leader. She is a daisy. I went from Brownies all they way to seniors, but I was never a daisy and it's been 10 years since I attended meetings. Anyone have any good ideas for leading a daisy troop?

My daughters were both daisy's. They loved it. When I was helping with the troop, there was a book that we bought at the scout district office that helped with activities and lessons for the meetings each week. I liked Daisies because we did not have to sell cookies. Hee It has been awhile since they are both in college now.

I think they sell cookies now... but maybe what I see is Daisies with older sisters selling cookies.

when I and my sister were kids, they didn't have Daisies, it started with Brownies. My sis did Girl Scouts from 2nd grade till she graduated from high school. She then went to college and majored in recreation. She then graduated and went to work for a Girl Scout council in OK. She left the Scouts a few years back when the Executive Director of her coucil kind of terminated her job (not her, but she lost her job anyway.) I would contact your coucil and see if they have a Zink the Zebra program that the troop could get involved in. Mind you, I really can't remember what we did, even if they do those kinds of things now, but my troop leader was a P.E. teacher at another school and was one of the member's mother - like mom was my sis' first Brownie troop leader.
