Comment and Page Views in AC

Carly Hart asked a question about comment and page views in AC forum, under Performance Bonus section. "Given the definition of a page view, considering that we've been told before that if someone clicks the single page view, the page reloads and we do get two views so we are not losing views. However, the page refreshes when a comment is made and the ads reappear. So, given that, does that mean that if we comment and the page refreshes that a 2 pager means we get 3 views since the comment refreshed the page and reloaded the ads? If the ads load, as you say, then it is a view. Therefore, articles with comments would certainly at least be credited with 2 views, even if not everyone clicked through to the rest of the pages." AC Jason said "I am not saying that comments do not produce a page view. Comments are a great page views and we encourage users to comment. Most comments produce 2 page views. I wanted to clarify that it is not always true." In this case, even a useless comment does contribute to page view, provided the advertisement loaded before the window is closed. So folks, next time when I post useless comment "...." or "!!!", "???", please thanks me for increasing page views for you. And please add a lot of comments on my articles too!

I'm glad that was actually put out in the open. It is good to comment on everyone's articles for the extra page views. AC IS getting paid for the page being refreshed and that is why they give the extra page view when they get paid. Your #2 responder obviously didn't read - AC Jason said "I am not saying that comments do not produce a page view. Comments are a great page views and we encourage users to comment. Most comments produce 2 page views. I wanted to clarigy that it is NOT always true." So AC Jason says comments are encouraged. So even if you leave a useless comment everyone appreciates the fact that you took time to read the article. Most people leave comments for a lot of different writers so they only have time to leave smiles. I don't understand why people get offended. I would rather someone leave me question marks than a comment of "your a complete idiot..." So thanks for the question marks scheng! Just kidding. Although you may use them on my articles yet to come. HAHA As a category editor, I can tell you that if AC doesn't frown on commenting when answering discussions then they aren't going to arbitrarily get mad at people for leaving comments and if they do, IT WILL BE OKAY. They aren't going to take page views away from number 2 for something I did or something you did. I don't understand everyone's anger about these comments anyway. Did I miss something on payment issues? They always forget to send me the updates on that. LOL

Page views are a lot lower to make up for the mistake they made in April and because they have started verifying views. I know that's one of those fancy little computer programs that they paid way too much for to do way too little. LOL

haha Mommaj, you should stop them from spending money to verify whatever page view impressions. They should pay more to us instead. Anyway most of us know that we cannot create artificial page view impressions. Most of us have difficulties asking our friends to read our articles, much less to use traffic exchange or autosurf to produce page view impressions. Wonder if we should ask the aliens to read our articles instead! If AC discovers million of viewers from Mars and Venus, wonder if they pay us page views, and charge to the aliens instead?

I did not know that comments did this. This is very interesting. Thank you for your discussion since I learned something new today. I will have to get people to comment on my articles on associated content. I really love associated content though and that it has the feature where other people can comment. ALthough sometimes when they leave mean comments I think otherwise.

Hi Oscar, I think if you have some mean comments, you would improve more. I personally like comments that show others have read the content. Some writers just leave comments such as Great article, Good article or Great tips without reading a single word of it. They know that they are adding page views for you, and they want you to do the same for them. They honestly do not care how good or how bad your articles are. At least those who leave mean comments have read your content. They are not doing it for the sake of hoping you to return a comment on their articles.

Hi Djbrat, it's new to me too. No wonder some writers are upset when nobody leaves comment. An article that is 3 pages long, will be counted as 4 page views if a reader leaves a comment. Most readers from the search engine will not leave comments, only internal AC writers will! So the best is to have a lot of fans to read and to make comments.
