Do your child(ren) wear sneakers during summer?

During the summer my children wear their sneakers maybe 2-3 times. Once June rolls around the sneakers are put away and out come their sandles. I just think sneakers are too hot to wear and make feet sweat too much during the summer when it's 90 degrees outside. What do you prefer for your children sneakers or sandles or both?

yes, i know what you mean. both of our daughters have mentioned that they need new running shoes and i have told them both that they will have to wait til the fall, til they go back to school. especially my younger one, her feet will no doubt grow over the summer and the amount that they will wear it, its not worth it.

I dont have any children of my own, so I cant speak for them. When I was a kid it varied. When we were young we often still wore sneakers. They are easier to run and bike in because they wont fall off your feet! When I got a bit bigger - by 10 - I hardly ever wore shoes in the summer! I preferred to be barefoot. We would run and play all over the place and never wear shoes! In the lawn, through the woods, on the streets - it didnt matter! Some days I wish I could still get away with being barefoot all of the time! My almost 4 year old nephew has rubber boots that he loves. It doesnt matter how hot it is outside. He always wants to wear those boots! The worst is making him leave them alone after he has been splashing in puddles. He always gets water inside them. But he never wants to let them dry before putting them back on!
