Forgetful Tooth Fairy!

Has the tooth fairy ever forgotten to visit your house? I have 6 year old twins. They've been losing their teeth for awhile now, I can't imagine they have many more to lose. Well, my daughter lost yet another tooth last night, just as she was going to bed. Hubby and I sat to watch a movie, and I told him to remind me before we went to sleep to leave money under her pillow. Then I woke up this morning and while going about my morning routine it dawned on me I'd totally forgotten to leave the money. By then my daughter had already checked for the money. She hadn't mentioned anything about it though. I distracted her by sending her off to brush her hair and such, and once she left the room I swapped the tooth for a dollar, hoping she'd look again before she left for school. She didn't though. As she was leaving for the bus I asked her about the tooth fairy and she started to tear up. I told her to go get the tooth, and she did, but of course found the money instead. She brought it to school to buy an ice cream. Have you ever forgotten to take your child's tooth and leave some money? How did you fix the situation?

I forgot to leave money for my son once about 2 years ago. He was a little disappointed. It was a weekend though, so I shrugged it off and told him that maybe the tooth fairy had the weekends off and put the money under his pillow the next night. He was ok with that. I remember one time I DID remember to put money under his pillow, but when he woke up in the morning the money was not there. Turns out he was being wild in his sleep that night and knocked the money onto the floor. It was on the floor under his bed.

I worry about my kids doing that too. Once I didn't have a dollar so I had to give my son 4 quarters, and I was terrified he'd lose them all. All my kids are wild in their sleep. Thankfully they haven't lost their money yet.

I haven't run into that situation, but my daughter was "hoarding" all of her teeth, she liked them so much she didn't want the tooth fairy to take them away. I have run into the Santa thing though... many times on Christmas Eve when we are full of the "Christmas Spirit" we almost forget to set out the stockings and arrange the santa presents. This year, the Easter Bunny almost forgot to come. Man, it's hard to keep up appearances... LOL

Yeah the tooth fairy is terrible in our house for forgetting, I have lost count of the number of teeth she has forgotten in the past! I just do the same as you put the money there as soon as I remember! The boys are getting to the age now though where they are not as excited about it now though, so it is not too bad.

My mom forget with my sister. Once though she didnt forget she just didn't have no money. So I gave my mom a dollar to give my sister. Then the time she did forget she did it the next night. She just explained to my sister that sometimes the tooth fairy gets overwhelmed and cant do everyone in one night. It so cute how your daughter got teary eyed that would be enough to make any mother cry.

This has happend to me to! But I did it a little differently. My children knows tht the tooth fairy exists by coming into my dreams to remind me to put something under their pillow. Yes I know alot of you will think that I am crazy but why would I give the credit to someone else, I put money underneath their pillow not the tooth fairy! If I do forget then the next night I will give a little extra under their pillow. They are happy and I am too and I still give a little credit to the tooth fairy.

We ended up forgetting once too. She came over all upset and showed us her tooth was still there. So I told her the tooth fairy must not have been able to find it under her pillow because it was so small. I said we'll put it under again and I'm sure she'll find it. That seemed to work find with her. So the next morning when she got up there was her money and the tooth was gone.

My husband and I did forget once and we both practically had a heart attack once we realized that we had forgotten the next morning. It was one of the twins and my husband had to call both of them out of the room while I snuck in there and put the money there. Same scenario, usually we remind each other and we both fell asleep. I felt horrible that I forgot but we fixed and everyone was happy.
