Have you ever gotten to watch a hive of honey bees move. The swarm in a large mass, making the most fantastic buzz. We don't get to see them every spring but maybe every two years or so. It is such an amazing thing, they start to move and circle around until they have collected every bee and then they go up, up and away, just like superman and then they are gone. Wild things are so much fun.

As a Commercial Beekeeper I often see a swarm of honey bees in flight or hanging on a tree limb. Its not a happy sight for a Beekeeper because those bees are leaving to find another place to live and make their honey. Honeybees can no longer live in the wild, (without medication) because there are 2 types of blood-sucking mites that live on the bee. There is more info on my blog at http://campbellshoney.onsugar.com/

Honey bees live in a Hive. Bumble bees live in the ground, but I think you are describing some type of wasp. Sorry but I know next to nothing about wasps, except they can sting several times in a short time. Honeybees are the only stinging insect that I'm aware of, that die after they sting. This is because their stinger is barbed, and they cannot pull it out.

I know these must have escaped, but regardless it was a wonderful experience to watch them move and to enjoy the noise they made. Thanks

I have not been too physically close to a bee hive for obvious reason but I recall a documentary about them. They are absolutely amazing creatures and the organization and division of labour are fascinating. It is impossible not to believe there is something greater than us in the universe when we observe wonders of nature such as bees. It would be an amazing sight to see them all move!

I agree with you. The sight of God's creation is so wonderful. I have not seen one yet but others like the migration of a big flock of birds hovering in the sky is a beautiful sight.
