Hello! Just wondering, if you have a television in your bedroom, are you the type of person who loves to leave your television on all night long even when your asleep? Do you set the sleep timer on so when you fall asleep while watching tv, you won't waste electricity? I hate it when my sisters leave the television on all night, I don't know why they do it I guess it keeps them asleep. What I do is I wake up in the middle of the night, and turn the tv off for them. But as for me, I like to set the sleep timer on, so that if I suddenly fall asleep I will conserve energy.

No, we turn it off. Electricity is getting more and more expensive these days. However, we do turn the television on the entire day (morning to evening around 9pm). There is a timer but we don't use it much. To lazy i guess haha! But it's the best way not to be bothered. I use that on my computer. It would automatically turn off after downloading something or when the set time strikes.

Hello! What up! Yep, I agree with you on that. Everything is becoming more and more expensive. Even gas prices are going up and it's such a shame. Turning off our television when it's not being used is a big energy conservation. Well that's my opinion, others think it doesn't even matter. But I say, as long as you can prevent something, like wasting energy why not do it right?

Prevent accidental fire too! I heard that just turning on(...you know, it's off but the red/green light is on) the television will cost you 25% on electricity bill.

Hi! Uhmm yeah, really now? hahaha. Well anyway, My cat too watches Television at night. Well, he's my sister's pet but my sister would make him watch cartoons at night. He does pay attention to whatever it is he watches, and eventually falls asleep. I think it's so adorable when you see your pet actually watching television.

When I was little, I always had the TV on all night. I couldn't sleep without it. Now, it's a little hard to go to sleep with the TV on for me... it's not so much the sound, as it is the light of it. Unless I have the lights on too, and just fell asleep while I was watching TV. But sometimes, I feel like my mind is still active while I'm in bed, so I need the TV on in order to fall asleep. It's like the TV being on is giving my mind something to do, while I fall asleep. I've never used a timer, so I don't even know how to set one. Wasting electricity actually bothers me, but if I need the TV on, I can't really avoid that :P

I do have a TV in my bedroom and I like to watch a little before I sleep but I turn it off when I start falling asleep. My daughter I sleeps with it on but puts the timer on. She can't fall asleep without it on.

I leave my television on all night. I don't do it on purpose. I usually just fall asleep watching it, and I have no clue how to set the stupid timer even though it's probably a really simple process. I also think the light and sound helps me stay asleep. I just have this thing where I need some source of light to get to sleep and stay asleep.

I used to leave the tv or radio on at night when I was going to sleep. I also put the timer on. I suffer from insomnia and it was a good way to focus on something and clear my mind enough to fall asleep. I found self hypnosis to do a better job at relaxing normally though. I think people just need a ritual to help you wind down witout your mind racing to fall asleep. It does develope a habit though.

I used to have a tv in my bedroom but I don't leave it running at night. Usually I turn it off before I go to sleep as I don't like to waste electricity and I can't sleep if there are any disturbances like that. My brother also has a tv in his own room too but always leave the tv running while he is sleeping, there are times that I would I go into his room to turn off the tv. I have told my brother to use the timer with the tv before but still he forgets and fall asleep with the tv on.

I can't sleep if I heard so many noises or if its not dark. I'll always make sure that when I lay down on my bed everything is close so that I can immediately go to sleep. Well, my sisters, brother or any one living in our house also do the same thing as me. They don't used to open the TV for them to be able to sleep, they also closed it first before going to bed. We are all good in saving our electricity. Well, I have known someone who also the same with your sisters which is my boyfriend. He always leave the TV on but of course not all night since he will set a timer in the television so that it will shut down when he is already sleeping. The television will makes him sleepy.

Well I don't leave the TV on for the night without anyone having to watch on it. Its just a waste of energy and more on bills. So its only at times that I may be watching or my housemates do have to watch on the TV.

I actually used to keep it on all night, because I can take 2 to 4 hours before I fall asleep. But then those darned info commercials started waking me up. Something would change and id wake up. But since I moved in with my boyfriend, I don't take so long to fall asleep, and I usually stay asleep.

It is not that I love leaving it on. I watch some late programs, and suddenly I have falled a sleep, and therefore my tv is on all night long. But again, when I go to work it is of, so I would say, with me it is the others way around...I am surprised that my TV is not broken...I am surprised about how long it really last, since it is on some times 24 hours...specially during the weekends.

I used to fall asleep wit a dvd on but i always would set a sleep think for about 90 mins so that it would turn off.

I never leave the TV on when I'm not using it because our electricity bills might go up and I would be the one to blame.

Ya, it's actually a bad habit to always put the TV on whole night while you're sleeping. It is just a waste of energy and electricity. Besides, the little radiation emitted from the TV is actually not very good for health too. So, why just do this while it brings no any advantage but so many harm. For me, i will not ever let the TV on if i know i'm going to sleep. If i want to watch TV, i'll stay awake and just watch, whereas if i know i'm already tired and wants to sleep then i'll turn off the TV then go to sleep. By doing this, we actually helps to conserve the energy and also save the money for our electricity bills.

personally i believe that leaving your television all night is some kind of stupidity(forgive me for the term that i use)..because as you mention it has already a sleep timer function control to avoid that things to happen..so if you often leave your television on all night..well i hate to use that term but i think its the right term for it..:)
