A studedent in my class is very clever.Everybody admires him.He didn't work hard at his lessons. But he may have good marks. In class he needn't listen carefully enough to the teachers. After class he doesn't do his homework carefully. Our teachers often say how pity that bhe is so clever. If he was not so clever,he would work hard at his lessens as everyone does.If he worked hard as everyone does he would have better marks,he would be the top student in class.Being clever does harm to him, though the case for him is so.

Hi fan, there is also the same case in my class, where the student is very clever but so lazy to touch the homeworks that teacher give us.I'm been wondering, how he can score high marks in class without doing all the exercises that techers give. And I went to him and ask him.He said he will listen carefully every time teacher is giving a lesson. He just act like not listening.Well,I don't know why he want to do that, but I'm still very amaze that he can score high marks just listening in class! Wow,how I wish that I am him!

It sounds like he has a case of the I-can-get-bys! His parents probably do not have their standards of expectation set high enough for him. He doesn't even find school particularly challenging; therefore, he can easily "get by"... but let something come along that he feels is challenging.. and he'll probably take you up on it!
