So, there is a balance that I didn't spend. The collection agency keep on sending letters to me to ask for that amount of money to be cleared of. Otherwise, they say that would seek the legal actions. What should I tell them that I never spend that money, they must making a mistake. What should I do with those letters? Any advise here?

usually you have 45 days to report there is a mistake in your statement. have you reported the mistake? that you didn't spend the money they charged you with? try contact BBB and don't pay these collection agency anything until the matter is resolved. maybe they don't have the 45 days rule but you should still contact BBB about it. a lawyer will be too expensive.

Hi. Clorissa123. You may need to contact them by mail or by telephone. Let them know that you did not spend the money. Talk with them about this. I hope that they will be able to reason with you. If not, then you will have to speak with their corporate boss. Hopefully, they will just work something out with you then.

I see you have some problems, no problem my friend! What type of debt is it? Why don't you believe you owe it? Who is the OC (original creditor)? Who is the CA (collection agency? It's always wise to dispute in writing to the CA & request VOD (validation of debt) from the CA. That's always your right as a consumer in the USA (I'm not sure about other countries). I can go into further details if you want. Cheers! Pablo

There is a process called debt validation that you need to do as quickly as possible. Dispute the account with the credit bureau, and while you wait on their reply...send a registered letter to the collection agency demanding that they validate the debt and prove that the balance is yours to pay. If they are unable to do so, you will be able to get it cleared off your credit report. Feel free to contact me if you need additional help!
