Hey I'm wondering If i should buy a mood ring or not. I heard that they turn your fingers green! Is that true? I went to many stores looking for mood rings, but I only found one. I didn't buy it because I'm a boy and it had flowers on it:p . Anyways, I tried looking online and I found one I like on hippieshot.com . I am going to purchase it if you people tell me that it doesn't turn your fingers green because I don't want a green finger!

Unless it is made from sterling silver...you'll have a green finger for sure. :) I know from experience...lol. Mood rings are really cool though so if you find one that's real silver and not aluminum or something weird like that, buy it. If you really want to wear one of the cheap ones...you can try to avoid the green ring by keeping your hands dry while wearing it and not wearing it all the time. It's kind of hard to avoid though because your hands tend to produce moisture so....go for the silver. :)

You might be able to find a good quality mood ring for about $10. Instead of silver you could get some sort of steel like they make the body jewelry from. And no...green finger isn't that bad but it is kind of gross. I don't think it will kill you or anything like that...lol It's just an unsightly green ring that forms under the ring your wearing. You can't just wash it off either...it's like a stain. Takes a few days to clear up. Aside from the green stain on your finger, your ring will also start to look icky and sort of rusty like too if you get one made from something too cheap. You won't be able to enjoy it too long. I wear a lot of rings and I've had them on for years and rarely take them off...they're all silver and most of them didn't cost over $15 and they still look shiny and new aside from the dents and scratches from every day wear and tear. Other rings I've worn made from lower grade metals only survived for a few weeks...then they start looking gross and old and I'm left with a garbage ring and a green finger too...lol

Oh ok. I bought a mood ring, and I guess I got a bad quality one. Sometimes when I didn't wear it for a few days, it would get kind of frozen. The color wouldn't change unless I put it under hot water. The mood ring broke one day when I accidently sat on it. I really want to buy another one, which is better quality.

There are some very nice mood rings, but they are out of my budget.
