I thought it was another blister...

This week has been like a blister week for me. Sunday morning I was working the in garden - HUGE blister on my thumb. Sunday afternoon was a party at my sister's - small blisters (plural, lots of them) on the top of my foot from the sandals. Then this morning I'm walking and I feel like I have a blister on the bottom of my big toe. When I get home I'm trying to look at it, but I don't quite bend that way any more so I couldn't "see" a blister, but it sure did hurt. After I got out of the shower, I'm feeling on my toe for this blister because it really hurts so it's got to be HUGE... Well, it was an "ingrown" hair! Actually, it was one of my dogs hairs which got under the skin in my toe. I got it out easily enough with the tweezers and the pain is totally gone now.
Have you had hairs that get under your skin like that before? Isn't it painful?

I've never heard of a "foreign" hair becoming embedded under the skin before but I've had a few ingrown hairs and they can become infected and really hurt!
I had two eyelashes that were ingrown. They actually grew through my eyelid towards my eyeball! I had to go to an ophthalmologist to have them removed. Man, that hurt!!! These things scratched my eyeball and it hurt for awhile afterwards.
But, ingrown hairs anywhere can hurt. The hair is growing where it's not supposed to be growing, moving things aside to have room; that's what causes the pain unless, of course, they become infected. That causes a LOT of pain!
I'm glad to hear that you found the cause of your pain and were able to get rid of it! I also hope your blisters are all healing nicely. Blisters can get nasty!

I've had this happen before, it's usually on the palm or sole of the foot. I don't know why it happens, but I guess the hair that gets there is pretty "sharp" on one end...
I have had regular ingrown hairs before - mostly from shaving my legs - and they're pretty nasty too. I've had one get infected, but I was able to catch it early and take care of it quickly.

Every once in a while after shaving my legs i get an ingrown hair that comes in but they havent really hurt. I use tweezers and take em out asap because if i dont they will scar. I've started using those smooth away things instead of razors now - they seem to work pretty well and i dont end up with nicks/cuts that end up scarring.
I've had an ingrown toenail before - now THAT hurts. It hurt for weeks to put on my shoes!
