I HAVE BEEN WORKING AT A LAUNDROMAT FOR THE PAST 4-5 MONTHS. I LOVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WASNT WORKING A WHOLE WEEK AND THE OWNER BEGAN TO TALK TO ME IN A VERY IGNORANT MANNER. AS WEEKS WENT ON, VENDORS WOULD CALL TO MAKE SURE THE OWNER WASNT THERE BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT AN INCIDENT WITH HIM DUE TO THE WAY HE TALKS TO PEOPLE. THE MANAGER CALLS ME LAST THURSDAY AND SAYS THE CHECKS WERE IN. i GO THERE AN HOUR LATER AND WHEN I OPEN MY LOCKER, NO CHECK. i WAIT NTIL THE MANAGER COMES IN TO SEE IF SHE GOR HERS. SHE DID. I CALL THE OWNER TO SEE WHY I HAVENT GOT MY CHECK. THE IGNORAMUS STATES ITS NOT FRIDAY YET. ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHAT A PRI*K! HE PUT IT IN THE WRONG LOCKER. NO APOLOGY. NOTHING. HE DOESNT CARE WHO HE DISRESPECTS. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! I TOLD HIM TO TAKE HIS JOB AN SHOVE IT UP HIS......AM I WRONG?DL

You should of waited untill you got another Job, but I know sometimes you have to make yourself happy, it would of been to stressful going to work everyday knowing that you and your boss could not get along.

True, I would have waited either. In these times, bosses could really be pr*cks because of the crisis and all. So, I would find a job first before I would blow my steam up on him. I doubt his company would collapse when you're not there anymore.

It sounds like he is a real prick. If you can live without the job, I would say you did the right thing.

He does sound like an ignorant moron. You have to do what you have to do. Better to leave with your dignity and self respect intact than to stay and take all the carp he dishes out.

Well I don't know how much money you have, but I hope your pride is worth the price. I have worked jobs where the Boss was terrible, but I never let my pride take over, I always had a job to go to before I quit. Good Luck

well, it really depends on how badly you need the job... i wouldn't dare to do it especially in a crisis time like this where job is scarce and it is so hard to earn money... i always tell myself that it is better to have a bad boss rather than to be jobless because i need to survive... as long as it doesn't go overboard yet, i wouldn't take it personally... anyway, well done to you for being so brave to stand up for yourself in front of your boss... i suppose you don't really need the job that bad anymore and ready to move on then... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

If I had to put up with the crap that you had to put up with in a job like that, I think I would have done the exact same thing, No one deserves to be treated the way you were, and from what you said it was not personal. Even if it was personal, you still would have done the right thing to tell him where to stick that job. That idiot really needed a bite of a reality sandwich.

In my last job I had a boss that made me feel so bad about every thing I did. No matter how hard I tried to do things right it was never good enough. I did talk to him a few times and his wife as well but nothing ever came of it. I did quit, and it felt so great. It was a job I had because I wanted a job and not because I needed one so it worked out okay. Being rude to your employees is never acceptable.

No! You are not wrong....you have every right to make sure you are treated in a very respectible manner and his lack of consideration does make him exactly what you said he is......you go girl!

I don't like to work for people who are not so good in dealing with people. I am sure there are plenty of jobs where I can do my work while being respected. Cheers!!

Whether you were right or wrong, depends on your financial situation. If you really don't need the money, then I guess it was okay to walk out of your job. If your family really depended on the salary you were making, then maybe it wasn't a very good decision. I know many times, bosses can be real pains, but sometimes, you have to turn your cheek and swallow it in order to take care of yourself and your family. I wish you well.

well, i hope you had another job cause they are hard to come by. but i understand why you did what you did. i have to admit i would have wanted to react the same way. some bosses are just pri*ks and impossible to work for.
