S40 Nokia doesnt have have anti virus software because the phone itself is not being affected by the virus. The virus will just infect the executable files that are on S60 phones and latest version and some S40 phones that have memory card or USB features on it. Most anti virus softwares are also made for symbian phones which os is executable and vulnerable for virus.

Hi!!I think that symbian as many other mobile os lastly never had an anti-virus linked to marketing and business policy!!In fact the amrket for mobile anti-virus will have a share upper now in the past seeing that your devices can surf the ent and doing many operation almost similar to computers! So may be that can say to you there is not an anti-virus because the sysstem will reject automatically as happened for linux distributions and this is not true in the case of symbian..and also you must considert hat viruses for mobile phones are written especially for symbian seeeing that is the most famous and shared os for mobile phones..and so after or before if you surf the ent or doing other operations linked to net or want a save bluetooth connection you must have an anti-virus also for your mobile phone and all you must buy a license for it..so..i think this is the most purpose that may be symbain choose to not give you together the phone and os you bought!!

I believe that S40 phones used to have low connectivity options (like no Bluetooth) so there was no risk of getting virus through those. But that doesn't apply now, right?

S40 units has bluetooth device and you can browse the internet through that unit, that features can transmit some virus at all if it is being used most of the time,if the unit is unable to have an anti-virus program at all the users will have hard times to trace if their mobile phones has virus and it can damage the unit which is sad :(

Maybe the Nokia company want to make a different between the both series.Or maybe they want you to buy their own antivirus to get profit...

Some of the people told me that S40 units does not need to have an anti-virus program because it will not affect the unit even though the virus was transfered in any means, but i experienced that and my files are being affected by the virus it means the virus as well can work with that unit but sad to say those kind of units doesn't have anti-virus software at all
