wish to see friends on webcam while chating?

Hello friends. It often happens with me, when I am chatting with anyone on Instant Messenger, I sometimes feel like if I can see that person on webcam. The reason differs from person to person whom you are chatting with. If with good friends, you may want to know he or she is. If with a new friend, you can know his attitude, by watching his body language.
Am sure most of you also must be willing to see the person you are chatting online with on webcam. Not sure about the reason. Can you let me know about the reason, why you want to see the person on webcam while chatting with them?

This is quite a tricky thing....
For me personally I have no qualms with webcamming since my online persona is close to how I am in real life, well that's my own impression.
I think though that some people enjoy role playing their online persona and "camming it" might be a little to "close to home".
When I'm talking to someone, well msg-ing them, I feel that I enjoy thier persona rather than knowing thier real details. And I think that seeing them may detrimentally affect my "imagined perception" of them.

Using webcam is a lot of fun, and i used webcam to chat but not all the time. Talking to someone new i allowed myself to show to them and i do n't talk to them again if i found them rude.
I love using webcam because it means to me that i am talking to someone far away just near me. I love to stare at someone or look to someone, and i do always look at the cam.

I don't have a webcam nor do I care whether or not someone wants to chat on webcam. I don't need to know what that person looks like. I am only chatting as a friend and will probably never meet the person in real life.
Back when I was still dating I did wish to see potential people I would meet online and meet up with in person, but I am now dating a wonderful man and have no need for any such liaisons anymore.

I started with a web cam because I lived away from family. It seemed to me like it closes in the distance! IT just helps to see the people you miss! There is a lot of nonverbal communication that is a huge part of a conversation. It really helps to see a person because so much can be hidden by only using a voice!
