What kind of bug is this?

There are tons of these little black grasshoppers in this garden area. Right now they are mostly smaller in nature. Later though, they will get huge and scary!! Does anyone know what kind they are or have youever seen them? I have never seen this many all in one place it looks like there are lots of them at different stages of growth. IT must be a breeding and growing place for them here! Trust me, they won't stay little and cute like these guys... they get so big!! They are real shiney black with a flourescent yellow stripe on them! Anyone got a real name for 'em??

If you enjoy fish then they make good fishing bait.They can be very destructive of anything green.

lol! Boy, you are right on that one!! I would do that if I saw this many near my home!! At least there is something profitable for them.. there's tons of them outside still....
