This year My Hubby and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary. When we were engaged we bought a set of used couches. They were not that bad, needed a good cleaning and some tlc. The have traveled with us through four moves and two kids. They took a beating in their life with us, who knows what happened before that. We have been saving for a few years and looking for a new set that suited us well and fit our budget. Tonight at 6:00pm I will be getting my new set delivered. A Microfiber couch and matching sofa. We got it for $399.99 on a Memorial Day sale. We looked at it on their last big sale and it was $799 but we waited and got a door buster deal. I am excited to sit my rear in my own couch. Have you ever waited a long time to get what you wanted and finaly got it? What are you waiting for?

You got a great deal! I just bought two microfiber recliners and one couch. They were very expensive. Our furniture before that was about 8 yrs old. When we moved into our new house~ 4 yrs ago, my plan was to buy new furniture that would look great in our new livingroom. Now it is finally done. New furniture, new curtains, new pillows~ everything looks so cool!

We are planning on moving in the next year or two. We were hoping to get some new furniture by then because we know that when we move the money will be tighter and new furniture may be even further out. I cant wait until it all comes together but it wont be before we can afford it so it might be a while.

i know what you mean. when we got married, my hubbys boss at the time got us cheap couches. his aunt bought a warehouse of couches and we got to choose what we wanted but alas, that was 21 years ago and well, it is definitely time to get new ones, but we cannot afford to do that!

21 years is a lot of patience. We have been looking for the right set for a few years. We cant afford a lot right now, we could get into a lot of debt but that would only cause trouble down the road. It might be a long time for some people but we are happy with the choice we made.

we finally got new couches too after years of hand-me-downs and purchasing used furniture. it is microfiber also and it feels so nice to have something that is new and never used. we will probably have them for the next 10 years but who cares! i am just proud to have people come into my home now and see nice furniture instead of the ugly couch we used to have.

It sounds like you understand me exactly. We are slowly changing our hand me downs over to the things we want. My kids were hard on our old couches. Now that the kids are older and take better care of things I feel like I can relax a little. We have almost bought new couches a million times but it is hard to find them and have the cash at the same time. Im so excited.

I just popped in to congratulate you!!! I´m at the moment of life where I´m giving aways things and thinking what will I keep. But I do remember your experience. Many times we remodeled old things because we couldn´t buy new ones. Sometimes there was no furniture that resembled our dreams and was within our budget. When my hubby was ill the first time, he couldn´t work for a year and we lost many things. We had to sell our house and build another one (he was in house building as a trade). But we moved a long time before the house was finished. It took us about 2 years to get the kichen cabinets of my dreams. My husband wanted to buy cheao ones and I wouldn´t hear of it. He said "for the meantime" but I knew that was forever. So I waited. When we had more money I started to look for the kitchen furniture I wwanted. But the ones they sold didn´t measure what I wanted,. So be found a nice boyy who worked with wood, made the blueprints ourselves and had the pieces cut and my nice kitchen is as giid as new after 20 years.

I love the stage of life I am in. We can finaly get what we want because we took what we did years ago. I hate debt so we try very hard to not get in to deep. I know it is a long time but we love what we have and someday we will pass them on to someone else. Probibly our kids at the rate we are going.
