I am trying to get motivated to lose weight and take better care of my self. I know I will feel better, live longer, have more energy and thus more fun, get more done and of course look better. Somehow that isnt enough. My family loves me no matter what my measurements are so I justify that I have a good life now, why suffer to lose weight. Im looking for extra motivation. This year I will be celebrating my 10th anniversary and we are going on a great trip just the two of us. Im excited but I need to be motivated. What is your motivation?

My motivation is really the way I feel. When I do not eat properly or keep myself active I just don't feel like doing anything. I do not like that feeling, I like to feel good about getting up and going to do something active with a freind or even by myself! For me, it's all about how I feel!! Can't buy that!

I did a diet a few months back that was super healthy. It was hard for me to eat with my family and at resturants so I quit. But on the second day I felt so good. I think if I were more disciplined I would eat that way all the time just for the great feeling. I had so much energy.

Increased energy is one of the benefits of eatin healthier! I know how eating out can make it difficult to stay on task. Actually, eating out is getting easier because more places are offereing wiser choices. IT's eating at gatherings that is so diffcult because no one really understands your reasoning. they make fun and really just do not understand... even though they may tell you how much better you seem to feel or look. Family is th worst!! I have gotten to where I take my own dishes and sides to eat so I know there will be healthy choices! Good luck!

I have lots of different motivations. I am in Weight Watchers so the people in my meeting motivate me. My whole family is over weight so watching my grandparents deteriorating health motivates me--I don't want heart disease or diabetes. My friends motivate me, I want to buy clothes in the stores they do and be able to go hiking and such with them. Also I am going through a divorce and my ex harped on my weight all the time so I want to lose weight to show him per se. My sister is also in Weight Watchers and I call her every week and we try to motivate each other. I want to look good and feel good. And now is a good time for me to take care of me.

My Grandparents and my Hubbys Grandparents live different lives. Mine are some what home bodies, His get out and are somewhat active. Although his Grandparents are ten years older then mine they are still very active and happy. It makes me think about the choices I make today and how it will be later on. I know I shoulg take the kids hiking but it just does not sound like fun, Neither does a tripple bypass. Now is a good time to take care of me so I have a tomorrow.

I try to stay healthy because I realize that suffering from a disease will result in high cost for the recovery. Thanks god, I have never been stayed in hospital. We often forget that we have a really priceless asset named health. We just realize it once we lose it.

my motivation is looking in the mirror and thinking how did i let myself go? i keep trying to convince myself that i don't have to suffer to get into better shape that all i need to do is get more active and watch what i eat but so far this isn't working. i recently gained about 8 lbs. which on my frame which was already borderline now looks sloppy. i am short which doesn't help. maybe if you think more of the idea of challenging yourself to do it that would be an angle that would work. i need to get busy on that myself.

Im short too, 4 foot 10, So I understand how one pound looks like 10. I used to be so athletic growing up and then I got married and had kids. I thought that I was just lucky and had good metabolism, Turns out playing sports for hours and hours a day helps but isnt very practical when there is work to be done. I am thinking about taking a photo of my self and posting it where I can see it every morning. Maybe Ill put on a bikini to make it extra motivating.

Just think about the benefits you will earn from losing weight. You will be more healthy, more lively looking and of course, more and more beautiful. But in my honest opinion, you don't really need a motivation to lose weight. What you need is self discipline, perseverance, and lots of concentration. For me, when you are motivated, it's just temporary and it goes away really fast. Like if you are motivated and the cause of that motivation goes away, you will easily get lazy to achieve your goal. My advice is, just do it. Lose weight using techniques you know by JUST DOING IT. You don't need motivation. Yes it helps.. but not in the long run. Good luck to you in losing weight!
