Have you ever cooked a sweet potato pie? I'm cooking one today and I would love to know if you put anything special in yours to make it different from the ordinary ones? One of my secrets is to grind up a few lemon rinds, that will give it a different taste and also using a can of evaporated milk instead of the regular milk will make it taste a big richer. What kind of special ingredients do you use in your sweet potato pie?

I guess I have never thought about putting in special ingredients. I have made mine just like a pumpkin pie. I do use evaporated milk too. I have only made a couple of them, but thoroughly enjoyed them. If I decide to make another I will have to think about adding a few special ingredients. Thanks for the idea!

Sweet potato pie.........
Okay that sounds good, it's always a good idea to try out something new bmorehouse. Thanks for giving some of my ideas special consideration....I'm going to go and grate up my orange peelings right now, just so that my pie can have that special thing that they can't quite figure out but will not be able to resist. Good luck whenever you do try it. Oh wow, just got another brain storm, what about sprinkling some small piece of chocolate on the top of it too??? Sounds pretty good huh? Hi our country is very abundant of sweet potato but i have not tasted a sweet potato pie. WOuld appreciate if you can share your recipe and would love to try it. thanks

I have tried making Sweet Potato Pie a coupld of times and that has been a great hit always. I usually use canned sweet potatoes, but better would be that if you can get the fresh ones, as it is needless to say that fresh picks always adds on to taste.
