Good places to eat and hotels in Cebu

Hello all. I was planning to retire to Davao, but because of the recent problems on Mindanao decided to move to Cebu instead. I have not been to Cebu so does anyone have recommendations for good places to eat out and lodgings when I first get there? Jollibee's and McDonalds are okay, but I was thinking more along the lines of local restaurants where the typical Cebuano might go for a lunch or dinner. I am not so interested in hotel type of foods or fancy restaurants.

I loved eating at Jo's Chicken Inato. The food is reasonably priced and the ambiance is just casual and relaxed.

Thanks, that sounds exactly like the kind of place that I was looking for. I'll give it a try!

There are a lot of untapped gems here in cebu. Calda, Alberto's, and Honduraw if your craving for pizza. Jo's, Larcians, etc for barbeque. Ding Qua Qua, Harbor City, or Dimsum break if dimsum is your thing. Red moon or Manila food shop for chinese. Kublai Khan, Royal Concourse, Jovens for eat-all-you-can. There are many places here to be discovered. Just send a message if your have something more specific in mind.
