A mother mistle thrush holds back a tiny sea using her tiny body to save her young. * http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/05/28/article-1189211-051E1003000005DC-690_634x455.jpg * While birds have debunked the myth that they are 'bird brains'; this puts their smarts well and beyond the pale along with their parenting dedication. A tiny mother mistle thrush blocks a mini-torrent of water from a flooding storm drain by sitting in the flood water and puffing up her body, blocking the torrent. Father takes up feeding duty, feeding both mother and chicks as mother is fully occupied in keeping the chicks dry. This is the kind of teamwork you expect only of higher mammals and usually of Human beings.

ANiamls and birds work on their instinct but humans work on their egos. This is why the animal kingdom has been more successful that any other species. As humans we ought to learn from every being around us. That was a very touching story and the best part of all is that these birds dont work for recognition but for their survival!

Very true. You also see less greed in the animal kingdom.
