My eyes are bigger than my stomahc!!! again. Last night, hubby and me went to have ice cream, we were both not very full since we had only tomato and fish for dinner, I looked at the menu, I just wanted the whole menu :-p because they all looked good!! We ended up order a super sundae for each of us which has 5 scoops + 3 toppings. When it was delivered, same a usual, it looked so small and candies were more than enough... I got full very quickly even though it wasn't that big...
I think it is a very bad habit that I always want more than the fact that I only eat a little bit especailly when I'm hungry, I just think I can eat a horse which I could only eat a mouse... :-p
Do you have this problem too?

Earlier I used to be an omnivorous and ordered or ready things more than my bowel would admit me to have but now I have got all allergic to them. Not that I have been affected by any disease but now just do not feel like going full mouthed.
Yeah , you can say now me have become quite selective in my food.

I never order more than I can eat. I eat very often but only small portions of food.
I don't eat sugar, so Ice cream and cakes are not on my list...
When going to restaurant I always check the portion size before ordering....the smaller the better...
I don't watch my weight, I am very skinny, but I am health conscious....I eat only what is good for me...

Hi, That's why they dont allow you to go shopping when you are hungry, Never do that ok? otherwise you will end up buying everything. I always feel want to eat this and that but my stomach could take a little. Last time when I came back home from work and went straight to the kitchen. When I opened the rice pot and it only had enough for one person, then I got mad so bad cuz I didn't know it was too much for me already. I said, why everybody eat someone food and never think that I am a hungry dog or something... then my mom said, you should eat that frist and then you can complaint later but now eat whatever it has and see if you can finish it or not. So, I calmed myself down and ate lunch... lolz... half way full then I realized the rice is too much and I thought. lolz...

I often try not to, but it's rather difficult when it comes to my favorite food such as cheesecakes or ice-creams. Especially when I'm hungry, it's like as you said, can eat a horse! So I would give in to the temptation, and usually end up with extras that I would stare at, or ask for a takeaway bag to take home (can't do this with ice-cream though)!

yes i do order more than i can eat because some people at home will always want to eat from it and they would make me look selfish if i don't get more than what is necessary for me alone. for lunch i could have easily order for a piece of burger of chicken and chips but considering some people at home ,i have to order for 2 more

I have almost opposite I can eat like a horse, but my tummy goes so slow in processing things I can get sick easily so I need to eat fiber and smaller amounts or even skip meals. Wich then I get those big eyes and then try not to or I'll pay the price.
Ice cream in my house doesn't stick around long the kids will inhale it before I even get much more than a bowl full.

Haha.. I'm guilty of this! And my sister usually get mad at me whenever I do order food and won't be able to eat it all..
Before I usually do that, but now, I try to budget my money and use it to a better use instead of wasting them on food that I can't finish..

Do not feel too bad about this, I think most of us are the same. Whenever I go out to dinner I am usually quite hungry and therefore my mouth already starts watering when I am reading the menu! I tend to order more than I can eat, but then eating out is a treat and therefore I do not see a huge amount of harm with indulging. Plus if there is so much that I cannot finish it, I can always have it packed to take home!

Yea, I don't feel bad because I won't just leave it there and waste it, I always take them back home with me so I can have it for lunch or dinner, as long as I don't waste the food, I think it is fine. Thanks for sharing! :-)

Hi mermaid...I have constantly had this problem. But at some point in my life I have to learn to say no. So when we go out to eat I know that most times I have to half whatever portion the restaurant gives me. This way I know if I can only have half - then that's ok and I'll lunch or dinner for another day. And if I only have a half of a portion then I'll be able to have a bit of dessert too!

I think I have the same problem but my wallet overpower my appetite! So, whenever I go to a restaurant, I'll order food that I want the most. I won't be able to order them all. Save it for another day~~~ And for ice creams, I only order 3 scoops, that's max. I don't have enough time to enjoy licking it before it melt like crazy.

I seldom order more than I can eat because my grandfather dislikes any remaining food on the table and will scold at us.
When I grow up, I understand that there are many people lack of food that I had already been wasting a lot of natural resources than I am supposed to have. Thus, I try not to order more than I can eat as I just don't want to waste even more.

Hello mermaidivy,
I always order more than I can eat. I just can't resist the temptations. Sadly, most of the time I can't finish up all the food and need to bring home. Whenever I dine out with my family, I always think to order more as my husband really has a good appetite. He can eat a lot. But whenever I do that, he will complain that he has uneasy stomach or maybe on diet, and because of that he can't help me with the food!

No not really. I would just order something enough then i would just order another item if i feel i am still hungry. It save money this way. I'm not sure about sundae though because i don't get full easily by eating it so i may order more than i can handle. lol! Who hates ice cream anyway?
