Women speak 2,000 words more a day than men! shocking isnt it?

Yes them so called experts in human anatomy have concluded that us girls yap a lot more than blokes in a day. (apparently minus the nagging)
I did not believe this so I decided to conduct my own experiment. For this week I monitored how many words I spoke in a day so here are the results:
Monday - 1823 words
Tuesday - 1445 words
Wednesday - 3633 words (champs league sort of increased my words)
Thursday - 233 (lost my voice from over screaming after Barcelona win)
Friday - 769 words
I actually haven't even reached the 2,000 in a day so I kind of dispute that!! Besides here in my lot its the blokes who yap more than us girls so no we can shut up at times you know.. but when we do shut up you guys complain and go "oh she's mad or she ain't friendly or whatever.."
And the nagging... purely your fault blokes..

We wouldn't nag if they would just do what we tell them to do the first time we tell them to do it! I don't think the 2000 words is besides nagging, I think it is the "nagging" that we have to do simply because they don't LISTEN. ;-)

If not for the game on Thursday, you might have averaged over 2000/day! However, I doubt the study that produced those numbers was entirely fair. I wonder if they just looked at male-female interraction or mostly conversations among friends, or random mall conversations (for instance). I'm a man and I can talk your ear off if you hit the right subject, and I know alot of guys who have "diarrhea of the mouth" ALOT! I've always heard an assumption about women talking more because they are more open to sharing their feelings so maybe that is the impetous of the study you mentioned.

But the study consisted of 20 people (10 guys and 10 girls) and for a course of eight weeks they were monitored on their daily interactions with people.. so the result was a bit biased I think

lol, I love what you did, however,,, i am extremely interested to know how you figured out how many words you spoke... how did you monitor it? very interesting! love it... But I can see that women speak more than men.. because the men I am around never tell their feelings where.. Women dont mind doing it so much... grins... :-)

honesty,women always speak more mords than men,in every family,women role for everything part thing,such as buy clothers,washing, clearning the house and etc.although, they will do working on the daytimes as same as men, so sometimes their will feel it is too tired to do that, so some word will be appeared out to their mouth.it will tell his hubby know her is so tired and need to help, maybe it is a way for give herself energy.but i don't know 2000 works will speak a day, it is different to belived.

Well I'm guessing you've only just toned down the number of words so we don't go ballistic on you
But I dont believe you only speak 500 words a day! I'm sure its more than that.. even if its to your self

Honestly I am not surprised that we use more words than men. I know I talk alot more than my husband does. I do have to admire you though that you actually counted how many words you said for all of those days. Myself, I would have lost count as I am such a chatterbox.

woman are more talkative than men in nature. women in nature are more outspoken than men. we tend to release our feelings by telling it out to our friends or either talking to ourselves unlike men, they just keep their feelings inside that is why women are more talkative than men.

yes i believe this, women can talk about virtually anything, they can gossip about men, clothes, accessories and what others have done to them, they can even gossip and forget food on the burner and they can gossip to the extent that they don't care if their kids are hungry or their spouses need them urgently and they can even talk about what they do in bed with their husbands

I'm definately a talker. I'd say i talk at least 5000 a day or more. My husband on the other hand hardly speaks some days. I think he may be just too busy "listening" to me though. I just think women interact differently then men do. We prefer to express our feelings and emotions. They prefer to focus on other interactions. It's just the natural way of things.

wow! I'm very impressed you counted your words! how exactly did you do that?
Well, the reason why we speak more is because we're ARTICULATE! I could swear men just aren't big talkers because they just can't express themselves like we can. They say four words and expect us to decipher a whole story out of it.
Then when we don't get what they're trying to say - we're accused of being bad listeners! In order for us to be better listeners, men have to be better talkers!
I say talk on ladies - it's the only way the world gets around :)

I have heard of this strange phenomena before that the ladies talk more then us guys. Very good experiment you conducted by the way, you did not do that well on Thusday though but that is understanable, even I was lost for words with the Barcelona win.
