METRONIDAZOLE: Carcinogenic on lab rats, how about in humans?

It's no rumor that metronidazole, a commonly used medication in hospitals is found to be carcinogenic in laboratory rats experiments.. but how about in humans.. how does it really affect us since we are the once consuming this?
