Ahh, another Phantom lover! I am in the process of trying to collect the various versions of "The Phantom". I have one on the way and am going to try for the silent copy. I caught that one night on the late late late late show when I really needed to be sleeping, and I was enthralled. I keep hoping to win the lotto one day. If I did, there are a LOT of things I would do for people, like making wishes come true...and you'll be on that list! Could you imagine hearing a knock at your door and it's the entire cast of Phantom? Or even better yet, getting the best tickets in the house for the show and being picked up by a chauffer driven limo to take you to the show? I hate being poor and not in the best of health either...I get so frustrated at what I can't do anymore! And what I HAVE to do to earn a few extra dollars. I am currently weed wacking a neighbor's weeds on the side of a really steep hill, the only way I can do it is to hang by a rope and swing the weed eater with one hand. I've gotten quite a few foxtails up my butt when I've lost my footing and slid down the hill... Shoot, I would even love to see some of the grand stand acts at our county fair, but at the prices they're charging I'll settle for the CD! The prices for one show start at $70 (for the cheap seats!) and go up. I look at the prices and think of what else I could be doing with the money. Hugs, and keep your fingers crossed that one day I win the lottery!

Hey there Loverbear, you're a Peach to think of me if you ever win the Lottery; same goes for you too, if I ever win we are ON....for a Phantom of the Opera show somewhere in this world (G)! and anything else we can do too! LOL! I just saw your discussion about you and your adventures with the weed whacker and what your dearest Khuay has been up too of late...LOLOLOL! OMG ! A LIZARD OF ALL THINGS!!! GGEEZZ! That Cat of yours is so funny!! You really do need to write a book about him and the things he does; LOL! Heck I'd buy it!!! I know anything and everything we buy these days are so expensive; Even If I was still a healthy person and working my two jobs like I used too, those darn seats are still EXPENSIVE!!! MERCY ME!! But that would be so cool to see you know? Oh well I'm just gonna have to watch the DVD again tomorrow I guess!! LOVE IT!! You have a good evening now I'm getting ate up with knats here and tiny bugs my computer is drawing them in like a magnet, I've got the windows open but you'd think there was no screen I've killed so many of them, I've got knat guts all over my puter screen here..EEWWW!!! thanks dear friend, love & hugs to you and dear khuay!!!

I saw Phantom in London. In all honestly, I really liked the movie better. Why would I like the movie better? Because I could hear, and understand the words better. There is this thing that opera does, and in the case of Phantom, Webber did it more than he normally does, and that is have everyone on stage singing different things at one time. Now, granted, they each got to sing their own version first, but in a large theater it was hard to hear the first time, and when they started singing all over each other, all you had was noise - yes, musical noise, but still noise. In the movie you got to really hear those words said, and, since I wasn't sitting in the back, partly behind a column (ONLY seat left in the house) I could also SEE what was going on. I've also seen Cats live, and while I enjoyed it, they came out into the audiance at one point and you lost their singing unless you were right there (and I was not.) I've seen several Webbers work in person now, and I have to say, Starlight Express really wouldn't make a good movie, but a very exciting stage show and Cats probably would've translated better if they hadn't just been trying to film a stage version (I think an animated version would be FABULOUS!) I hope that makes you feel a little better, just grab the DVD of the movie and watch that, you get a much better, more intense version of Phantom that way.

I saw Sunset Blvd., Phantom, and Starlight Express when mom and I went to London in '95. We only missed shows like one night we were there.

Oh that's right you did say you had seen them in London, I bet that was quite an experience for you to be there and to see those shows; AWESOME!! I'd love to go back to London too someday I never really got to see/experience too much when I was there; too much other fun stuff going on with a big group of friends;

HI Elic; Thanks for sharing your experiences with me (us ), I always wondered about that too , how would the singing be there "live" in a show like that? Yes its amazing what they can do on those movies, DVD'S to make all the music, words just precise as can be; I would still like to experience it just once you know? The thrill of it all!! but I'd have a heart attack at the costs of the tickets, gas, & hotel and food expenses... now when I was younger and not injured and had better health I could have easily made that hour and a half drive after a show not these days...I'd have to take a long long nap just to be able to stay awake..LOL! No, if ever given the chance I'd be so wired up, I'd be wide awake for sure!! thanks again, and I think I will watch the DVD tomorrow, if I watch it this late I'll be playing all the songs and music in my head all night long!! Love it though!!

Now, I HAVE heard of this one, but believe it or not, I've never had a desire to see it. My friend in Knoxville, however, can't get enough of this or of its star. I would like to see Cats or Hair or even Jesus Christ Superstar (again), but there are others I don't care if I see or didn't like when I did (like Annie). It's hard to explain why one will appeal to me and another won't. I might not even like Cats or Hair if I got to see them. I do want to see Mama Mia, though.

LOL! Well believe it or not if someone had asked me to see this like 10 years ago or more I would NOT have been interested at all, but since seeing the movie when it came out I absolutely fell in love with it, and just would love to go see it just once; you know? I also would love to see Cats perform;its funny how we change as we get older, maybe we are just getting "wiser" huh? But I never dreamed something like this would be here in St. Louis, now Chicago I could see it being there BIG AS$$ CITY!!The Fabulous Fox is a really AMAZING THEATRE It used to be just called the Fox and I'm not sure when they changed the name of it but probably when they re did it!but crap ticket prices to anything is just stinkin high you know?it sucks!!

I can guess on the name change, but I won't attempt to voice that guess here. Maybe in a private email to you. Anyway, we have several theaters in Philly I'd like to go see some musicals at (the Walnut Street Theater, the Keswick, the Merriam) and they'll often do Broadway remakes, but I never have the money when they're there and then, when I do, no one wants to go. Some day....some day!!

Toots?!?!? LOL! I've known of Phantom Of The Opera since forever, but, I've never seen it. Andrew Lloyd Weber is incredibly talented. Would you say that the link you gave me to Amazon.com has the best DVD out there for this movie? I mean, is this one of the better versions of the movie? If so, I'm getting it right away. Thanks, Jan! Mija meows hello to you too=^..^= Last month she had a tooth pulled and the vet allowed me to pay in installments which was very nice. She's a happier camper for getting that tooth pulled. Take care, sweetie! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija
