Rush is great! My favorite genre is rock and my favorite sub-genres are 80's metal, glam, hair metal, NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) and traditional heavy metal. I think you might already be able to guess my favorite band if you look at my username Keep on rockin'!

It's a genre that was mostly in Britain (obviously) and the NWOBHM bands released their first mostly in the late 70's and early 80's. The name comes from the fact that in the 70's punk was very popular in Britain and heavy metal was mostly forgotten except for the big names like Black Sabbath, Ufo, Led Zeppelin etc. and even they weren't doing that good. Then suddenly most notably bands such as Iron Maiden and Def Leppard started getting record deals and heavy metal started getting more popular again. Bands like Angel Witch, Diamond Head, Grim Reaper and Tygers Of Pan Tang are the most NWOBHM-sounding bands there are in my opinion. Just listen to their earliest records and you should get a pretty good image about what traditional NWOBHM sounds like. Especially listen to their first albums, Angel Witch self-titled, Diamond Head's Lightning To The Nations, Grim Reaper's Welcome To Hell and Tygers Of Pan Tang's Wild Cat. Some tracks from every one of those albums are on YouTube so it's easy to check them out. Despite the name that refers to Britain, there are also some NWOBHM bands that aren't actually british, for example the swedish E.F. Band. More information about NWOBHM (most importantly a huge list of NWOBHM-bands) can be found at a site called www.nwobhm.info Hopefully this helps and you now know what NWOBHM means

Hi dust! :) I listen to mostly all types of music.. rhythm and blues, alternative rock, rock metal, country, country pop, pop, love songs, jazz, bossa nova except techno ;) I prefer old school songs a lot so I guess my favorite artist would be the all time great guitarist Carlos Santana :) He really rocks and I love Michelle Branch too.. I hope they compose more songs ;)

Wow there are many ! Rave : I could just dance off listening to this music. It is the best kind of song to hear when we need to loosen ourselves. I can listen and dance the whole night through rave. R&B : Many artists that i like produce r&b songs. Example like neyo and keyshia cole, their songs are well written and nice to sing as well ;) Love Songs : When i'm sad or wanna express something, i'll choose love songs to hear because i have a girlfriend. Listening to this type of songs can make me remind of her.
