Notifications!

For several months now. . .I think since the first of the year, I haven't gotten any notifications when my friends posted a discussion. I wrote to myLot and got a pop up screen that said in effect we got your message it will be taken care of as soon as possible. If you e mail us again your e mail will be deleted. OK. Nothing ever happened. No notifications. So I went in and set ALL my friends to notification is off.
Seems I missed one. Yesterday I got notifications that one of my friends had started discussions, so I went back to my friends list, and sure enough that notify was on, so I turned notifications back on. We'll see if I get notifications from the rest of my friends now.
So, have you put in a "service ticket" with myLot and just about given up on it? Did you get an answer right away?

That was my intention, but then I forgot to turn them back on.

I quit writing to myLot after I was inadvertantly banned for a mistake on their part and not being able to get a reply.
Friends of mine here wrote admin and got me reinstated actually.
I also have that notification glitch at times.
Not all friends but just some.
It happens mostly on weekends.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Yeah, I've had a few other friends that were banned or their profiles were locked due to no fault of their own. They had to start over with a new ID.

Wow, it seems mylot has gotten even more annoying than the last time I contacted them. I have three people on my friend list whose notifications I do not get (notification buttons are on). I contacted mylot about it and they said they would take care of it. They didn't. It's annoying because these posters have great discussions. But with so many discussions in my inbox already, it is hard to remember I'm not getting theirs. So I don't seek them out as often as I would like to.

I hear ya. I'd probably be more active if I got notifications, but I get busy doing other things and forget to even check myLot sometimes. I don't have quite as much time on my hands as I did when I first joined.

Yes I contacted them over two months ago about this problem. I used the 'contact' button and got the automatic response but then a few days later they responded saying they would 'look into the matter' - where they have gone to look I have no idea because nothing has changed yet
I receive notifiers from some friends and none from others even they are all set to 'on'. I even experimented with one user who is a friend since I joined - we cancelled each other from our lists and then re-requested but nothing altered
It's so annoying because only being aware of some of them and not all seems biased.

I know a lot of people have complained about receiving notifications on only some of their friends and nothing they do seems to change that.

HI ya beaddoodler: I rarely email them about anything only if its about some
troll or someone being offensive is all;
I can hardly keep up with a few of my closest friends topics much less my own
I'd love to be able to respond more but I think my poor hands/wrist would fall off of me, and I kinda need them for other things..LOL!
I hope you get it all working out ok.

Thanks dream. I've turned on the most interesting friends and have already started receiving notices. If I turned all of them on I'd be getting a lot of drivel. I really need to clean out my friends list.

Thanks. I'm getting notifications of responses to discussions started now, and one or two friends. I think the system software just can't keep up with the amount of membership here.

Most of the time I have found when you Write a complaint about something it takes forever to hear anything back on it if you ever do. Even when it is a Good question a lot of times it goes unanswered as well. But the thing you did with the Notifications is a Great tip for sure. I know that it could be the Best thing to do with anything here for sure.

With nearly 175,000 members, I'm sure they get a lot of petty complaints and the valid ones get lost among the clutter. As long as I can get on here and talk to my friends, I'll try not to complain too much. :)

It's an automated system monitored by real live people. The few people are overwhelmed by the many members.
Even understanding that it's frustrating.
