Well my kitty's first health problem appeared yesterday.I do not think is something serius and i guess is usual for many cats with a lot of fur!!Jimmy has many many hair...I wash him,i comb him and evrything that is needed and he still has the same fur.So yesterday he puked a couple of times his own hair. While he licks himself the dead hair that is upon him go straight to his stomache and creates ballhair.I really do not know to get rid of his hair..I want from monday to go ask the vet about a solution. But i am glad that he puked it,cause his cough stopped. If you have any kind of advice i will be gratefull to you.You can see jimmy and his hair at my blog http://kitty-jimmys.blogspot.com/ Thanks anyway lotters...

Several people have already written that kitties do spur up hair balls and it is natural for them to do that. There are several things that you can give your kitty to help them expel the hair balls. We give our kitty a special treat that has a hair ball remedy in it so when she goes poo it is gotten rid of that way instead of having her spue it up. You can give your kitty oily fish if she will eat it. You can also get tubes of hair ball remedies that is put on their paws for them to lick off about once a week. We have never given our kitty grass and giving her the hair ball treatment that comes in her treats takes care of the problem most of the time.

Hairballs are a common occurance during the change of seasons. You might offer a bit of extra oil in his diet and he might actually pass them through. But relax, cats have had hair balls since the beginning of time, and they aren't really going to hurt him to bring them up.

get some oily foods, like oily fish and the like - but not too much fish, since you have to worry about the mercury in the fish I need to do a discussion about feeding the Pong....

brush him even more often and get some hairball creme remedy. you can get a cat's hair trimmed, but they usually don't recommend it.i had a long hair cat once who i had groomed in summer, because he seemed much happier as it was very hot and humid.

Hi zouna5, I have never given my cats a bath as they do bath themselve, like cleaning themselves all the time, as for furballs it is just a normal thing cats do but brush everyday so they won't gat so much of it. give them vitimins tables twice a day, you can get them from the petshop, I don't think you have much to worry about. I have cats too. It's actually normal for cats to have hairballs. Except for being unsightly, it's not considered a problem unless it's excessive. Brush Jimmy's coat daily to minimize the amount of hair he swallows when he grooms himself. If he is long-haired, brush his coat twice a day. You can also give him grass to eat to help him pass hairballs much easier. This isn't ordinary grass, by the way. Many pet stores carry grass seeds that cats can eat. It's basically a mix of wheats, oats, and rye. You can also buy these seeds individually in a local health store.

Oh thanks for your advices.I have heard for the grass ,but was not sure about it.I will go to a petshop to buy,but i am afraid that jimmy won't eat it.Is there a solution for jimmy not to lose so much hair?? Oh my,is there a possibility this hair loss to indicate a health problem or is just normal?

Cats are known to shed more than dogs. This is normal. However, if you notice your cat having bald patches of skin, you should take him to the vet to see if he has any ringworm or such. Brushing him and letting him eat grass is really the only way to go. Cats tend to like grass so you won't have any problem with Jimmy not liking it. Don't feed it to him like you do with cat food. When the grass grows, just leave it in a place where it's accessible to both you and Jimmy so he can nibble on the grass whenever he wants. It's not like food that he has to take daily. It's more like those wheat grass shots to us humans. We don't drink it daily but drinking it once in a while helps.
