Hello all!I am writing this because I am calling out to bloggers here who are from Bacolod City or Negros Occidental. Bloggers are an entirely new breed. When there is an issue, it is most certainly going to be blogged. Bloggers are anonymous most of the time, and in writing anonymously, bloggers have obtained power. It seems that bloggers are more powerful now than the published journalists of the past. In every community, province or region, bloggers have joined forces to form communities or associations. They hold social events and help each other become better bloggers. And more importantly, they help each other monetize their blogs and even earn The Bacolod/Negrense Bloggers Community Neigborhood: Bacolod more. In this light, the bloggers of Bacolod City, in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines, have come together to form their own group. The initial meeting last May 30, 2009 was attended by seven active bloggers who have committed to proliferate the word about the association. They are also planning for a mini-convention in July where a resource speaker will talk about her successes in the blogging world. But it will not be limited to bloggers from Bacolod City only but will also encompass the entire province of Negros Occidental. The prime movers of the organization believe that there are many passionate bloggers in Bacolod City but are just in hiding, as mostly blog about their personal life. However, the organizers are willing to help people monetize their blogs. It is also their hope that with the organization of a bloggers' community, they can hold events and get support from sponsors. This effort will hopefully be backed and the seven organizers are hopeful to gather 100 bloggers in a period of one time in time for the mini convention.
