I have worked in Home Care for 20+ years.I started at a private agency about 2 1/2 years ago.I love what I do and my steady clients. A new girl started working for us and was doing one of my regulars who is paralyzed on her left side and needs help doing everything, she has had numerous brain aneurysms and strokes and by the powwer of God is still alive! After about 5 months,I was called in one day to fill in and was informed by the client that the woman who was there regularly had an unqualified woman coming in on weekends to take care of her,a friend of hers. After trying to talk to this woman on numerous occasions and to no avail,I went to the boss and let him know what was goiing on and the woman was spoken to and given a warning.Well, she found me on facebook and wrote numerous RUDE emails to me about the situation! My reasoning behind going to the boss was,and still is that we live in a small town and there's not much work here, what if something had happened to the client while this other unqualified woman was there,my boss would have been put under investigation and we all would have lost our jobs if he was shut down. I really feel that I did the right thing, what would you have done?

Good for you. You did the right thing. What she did was uncalled for and should have resulted in her loosing her job. As a care provider you should always put the care of your patient first. As for her personal attacks that is just wrong. I would document every thing she said to you and keep copies of it all as well. If she does not stop then I would inform my boss as this is now a hostile work enviroment due to her personal attacks. No one has the right to do what she did to you. Good luck and keep up the good work. I am sure that the woman you spoke of is happy to have some one like you speak out on her behalf.

People is complicated. Some of them don't want to admit their weakness and wrong doing. It's a nature. Cheers!
