Coffee ice cream - yes or no?? How about all the other new coffees out there?

No - this is not strictly a poll. I do want to know, but I also want talk about all the new and different kinds of coffee flavor ice cream and frozen concoctions that are being marketed more and more. First of all, have you ever tried Edy's Espresso Chip Ice Cream (if you're a coffee ice cream lover, that is)? OMG It is the MOST wonderful thing I have ever had in my life!!! I don't dare buy it very often because I WILL eat it (and eat it and eat it!) Secondly, have you seen the new Wendy's ads about their Coffee Toffee Twisty Frosty and their Frosty-cino? Dear Heavens above - I NEED to get there to try BOTH of them!! Then McDonald's has expanded its coffee offerings. Their iced French Vanilla is amazingly good (second only to Dunkin Donuts, I think), so I need to try one of the others that they now offer. I do like cappuccino, so that's another stop I'll be needing to make. Previously, the only hot coffee I liked outside of home was diner coffee. But, I found that Burger King's hot coffee is actually quite good - not bitter and "cheap" tasting like fast food coffees used to be. I haven't tried McD's hot coffee since discovering their iced coffee, but maybe soon. Anyway, what do you think of all of this? Are you a coffee ice cream lover? Do you like all these new offerings that are cropping up all over? Do you think it's a fad that will fade or do you think it will stick around awhile?

Harlequin, huh? Sounds a bit like the crappy Play Doh ice cream I'd see in Utah. Ugly blend of pastels all swirled around one another. There was also bubble bum ice cream, also in Utah. Both looked and smelled nasty to me. Neither of my kids liked them, thankfully. But, they were very popular out there. Can't even understand how. Ugh.

My husband and I succumbed to the Wendy's adds yesterday, and went up there just so we could have Coffee Toffee Twisted Frosties. We didn't even go up there to eat, we just went there for the frosties. I posted a couple of discussions about them, and one about new coffee drinks in fast food restaurants, wondering when this all started. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE WENDYS COFFEE FROSTIES. OH WOW, they are absolutely out of this world!!!! There is a Wendy's just up the street from our apartment, and now that they are serving those frosties, we are going to go there a lot more often. When I'm not drinking those cold ones, I'm drinking hot mocha lattes at Second Cup (a wonderful Canadian chain of coffee shops 100X times better than Starbucks. I'm headed up there in an hour, as a matter of fact. As for plain old coffee ice cream, LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that's two recommendations for Wendy's with no one in opposition (other than those who wouldn't try them to begin with), so I guess I'd better get my derriere down there in short order. The closest one to me is three towns over (maybe 3 miles), so I'll need to get my motivation working. I have to go to WalMart anyway to drop off a prescription and that's on the way, so maybe I'll make a circuit of it. If they sell Edy's in Canada (might, but don't know), really try the Espresso Chip. Maybe they've even offered the rights to another company to sell it - might be under a different name. It also goes by the name of Dreyers in the Western US, and both are owned my Nestle, so I have no idea if any of those names sells in Canada. But, it really really is good. I intend to try out the new coffee frosty as soon as I can get there.

It's a real shame you don't live in my apartment building, as there is a Wendy's, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Tim Horton's (like Dunkin Donuts only better) and Harvey's (Canadian burger joint that makes and dresses your burgers right to order), a Quizno's, and a Subway, along with a couple of private diners, and the A N A F (where the Veterans hang out) all within walking distance of where i live. Harvey's is on one side, and the A N A F is on the other. Since Hubby is a Viet Nam vet, we can drink at the A N A F anytime. Second Cup coffee is about a mile up the road (no problem by bus) and I spend my days in there reading, and drinking one mocha latte after another. I don't recognize the brands that you mentioned. I'll have to look for those. I love Guelph. I love living right in the middle of downtown Guelph. You jjust read about all the places we have within walking distance, and a few short bus rides allows me access to everything else I could possibly want. This city is so COOOOOL!!!! If you like those frosty coffee-type drinks, and hot coffee drinks too, move to Guelph! Have you ever eaten a Coffee Crisp bar? They have them in some parts of the USA, but they sure didn't have them in AZ, when I lived there. That's why I brought suitcases full of them, when I went to the States. They're coffee-infused chocolate covering wafers with coffee cream inside, and they are like a crunchy version of a mocha latte. YUMMMMMM!!!!!!! Walker and I want to grind some up in our bender, then add about 6 scoops of vanilla soft-serve, and a lottle coffee liqueur, and make a yummy dessert out of it all.

I haven't tried any of the new-fangled coffee varieties at the fast food places, nor have I tried Edy's. However, I LOVE coffee flavored things, and I recently found a new addiction: Blue Bell Ice Cream, Mocha Madness!! Mocha Madness is a new flavor. Before, they just had coffee, and I think they also have a Jamocha Almond Fudge. Anyway, prior to trying Mocha Madness, my favorite flavor of ice cream was Rocky Road. Now, after years of being a Rocky Road devotee, I must say that it is clearly a toss-up. I cannot choose one or the other as my favorite. Therefore, I beg to differ that Edy's has the best coffee ice cream. Blue Bell is better than any other ice cream I've ever had, and you MUST try Mocha Madness and tell me what you think! Mmmm...that makes me want to go home. I have a tub of it sitting in my freezer! Yum!

I seriously do not like Ice Cream, but each time I can't I see a coffee-flavored Ice Cream or Yogurt Ice Cream, I simply cannot let it pass. I guess that makes me a coffee ice cream lover. Here in my country, we don't have much of those offerings in Fast Food Chains. Right now, I think the market is limited that's why we don't have these offerings yet. However I would really really love it if we had all these coffee flavored ice creams in Fast Food Chains.

I like the Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino but sometimes I feel it is too sweet for my taste but the caramel Frappuccino is much more sweeter. I don't like too much sweet and I hardly buy this just when I have cravings. I am more of a coffee drinker than an ice cream eater. I am mostly just comfortable drinking my nescafe coffee. I like the sundaes at Mcdonalds and Jollibee and the coke float as well. People tend to go taste the new stuffs and I think all this places who offers this will keep on offering new products for them to be able to get more clients.

LOVE ice cream coffee - it's almost always my first choice. Luckily, my bf eats anything - so when we buy ice cream, we always end up with coffee ice cream. =D Edy's Espresso Chip Ice cream - haven't heard of it or tried it. But I will keep a look out for it. McDonald's coffee is surprisingly good - made from Arabica beans. I thought that was all just B/S, and for attraction purposes only. I tried the mocha cafe - wasn't too pleased. Too sweet and too strong for me. I have yet to try the Wendy's iced/slushie coffee concoctions-though I'll be saving up for it!! Mannnn my mouth is watering just thinking about it!! =D

I don't drink coffee. I'm afraid that I won't be able to get to sleep at night if I did. BUT I do love coffee ice creams, coffee candy, and coffee aroma. Hey why not make coffee soap?ΓΌ
