I like listening to classical and cultural music. I really like music of other cultures too. I have travelled to a number of countries in different parts of the world, and had the opportunity to listen to the music of those countries. Oh, they are so beautiful ! I now have a collection of CD's of those too. How about you ? Do you like listening to music of other cultures ?

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard music from other cultures. I like some mexicana music and Indian music, my favorite though, is Kitaro, I believe he's Japanese. His music is so peaceful and relaxing, great to put you in a positive mood. I will have to check out the turkish music! another interesting one I heard was from a band called huun huur tu. I think they are considered "Mongolian throat singers" it's pretty unique.

Yes, I like listening to music of other cultures. I don't get to listen to it too often. I like Hawaiian music. My parents did, too. When we went to Hawaii in 1972, we heard Hawaiian music being played in just about every store we went in. I also like hearing the bagpipes of Scotland. When we went to Europe the next year, we saw a parade in London (somebody told me later that it might have been the Queen's birthday because it was in June) and we saw some bagpipers there. I also heard some in Baltimore, Maryland one time. Kathy.

I like to discover music from other cultures and for me it is always a pleasure to listen to them, appreciate them and to study them. I have been to Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean and there are a varieties of music over there, I enjoyed their national dance which is the Sega. I have a compilation of the songs too.

Yesterday I went to visit an acquaintance who just underwent surgery. She showed me a video of a Turkish wedding and their music is really different from ours but I could watch for 1 hour and 30 minutes without being bored. The majority of the video contained Turkish music so yes I can say I enjoy Turkish music but not if i'd have to listen to it every day.

Yes, maybe that would be so interesting. But i haven't really done that. I only hear music of different countries on tv, when i wantch travel & living or discovery but not on cd's yet. But i have always watched episodes about people from Africa and i think their music is interesting. Even had the chance of seeing and heard this boy from Africa singing his first song on American Idol from his first album. Proceeds from this cd will be used to help the hungry in his country. It was a beautiful song.
