contracts should expire in either five or ten years, your choice when you apply for them. Just check the box that applies. if after the five or ten years you want to go again you enter into a new contract. First the Divorce attorneys will never go for this. Second really what are they thinking. I wish I could find the documentation of this online, it was in my church's newsletter, from the Southern Baptist Convention News. Regardless what the heck are they thinking, should we just rewrite the laws so that it makes life so easy on everyone that they can get married and well unmarried just because five or ten years is up.

That is absolutely outrageous. It will never pass though, that's for certain. Even those who do get divorced.. when they walk down the aisle they aren't assuming it's just for 5-10 years. Everyone who gets married does think it's forever, it just doesn't always work out that way. I think this is a sign that things are getting really really bad if anyone thinks it's okay to do this.

They will have to much opposition to this, even those that do not adhere to the religious aspects of marriage will disagree with this. At least that is my opinion.

That is CRAZY!! I really hope it doesen't go through. Seriously, what are they thinking? Is this just a way out for people?! I mean a marriage is a marriage. It is meant to last a lifetime. Granted a lot of times they don't but still..that is the commitment that you're making when you say I do. Probably just another way for them to make money on people. I'm sure you'd have to pay each time you renew!

I could not agree with you more. It is insane. What next an application to become a parent (however in some cases this would not be a bad idea... )

That would be crazy. Why put couples through having to renew being married? If your happily married there's no reason to have your marriage ended. If your not happy being married, go get a divorce. I think it would lead to a lot more broken homes doing something like this. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Is this for real? If they are making contracts which will expire after 5 or ten years then they should also redefine the meaning of marriage. I believe that a couple chose to get married because they want to spend the rest of their lives together. I think the people who want that type of contracts doesn't really believe in the true meaning of marriage as indicated in the bible. I think they just get married because they just want to experience life of being married and after their contract expires they go back to their previous lives.
