Sleep: How long can you life without it?

It's 5:47 am here and I haven't had sleep for just under 18 hours now. What is the longest period you haven't had sleep?

Ugh...I need my sleep and lots of it :) I don't function properly if I don't get the right amount of needed sleep. I think the longest I have ever gone without sleep was 48 hours and that was when I was a teenager which back then it was a lot easier now that I am older my old bones need their sleep.

48 hours???????? CCRazy! :)
A few years back when I was ill before going on a school trip I did sleep but not sufficiently and we did all kinds of energy draining things. It was like 12:00 am and we had to do a little play with a famous Dutch TV celebrity, so we were all very excited, and I was like: I want to SLEEP, whaargh... and started to see all kinds of weird things around me... boy that was a embarassing experience.

Hey there! The longest time I've gone without sleep is around 40 hours. I was at my cousin's place and the PS2 was new at that time. We had a bunch of games and we decided to try them all. I slept a good 14 hours after that.
