Have you ever heard of a wish chip?

I was told as a kid that if you got a chip that was folded over so the sides touch each other it was a wish chip. A friend of mine was told that they were the curvy curled up chip (not the ripple chips). Both of us were told that if you made a wish before eating the chip it would come true if you didnt tell anyone your wish. You had to eat the chip in two bites or less. My friend was also told it would come true within 7 years. Have you ever been told of the wish chip? Do you make wishes? What did you have to do for the wish to come true?

Hey saundyl! That is so funny! I have never heard that before! I just used to like to eat those chips because they were good! No particular reason I just liked the way they looked! But, I had never been told that they were lucky or anything! I wish that I had know that because I always ate them! Not that I think it would have made any difference as far as my luck went! But, it is nice to know! Now I will probably never find any again! I usually buy the rippled chips anyway!

I've found them in ripple chips (was eating them when i thought of this dicussion!) I find more of them in the kettle cooked chips than regular lays or old dutch chips.

Somethings you just cant do a thing to make it what you want. I'll give an example...When i was 16 my baby sister who was 9 months old was diagnosed with cancer. My wish on EVERY Chip EVERY shooting star, birthday wish anything you can wish on was that my baby sister wouldnt die from the cancer or the treatments. 11 years later we still have her - she didnt have to do chemo..she had a very major surgery during which she did die on the operating table but the doctors brought her back... I couldnt have done anything to help her...It was so hard seeing her go into the operating room and she wasnt calling for mom and dad she was calling for me I just wanted to take her and run away to where they wouldnt hurt her where cancer didnt exsist but...theres no such place. But my wish came true. We still have her to love and we all love her alot.

My sister told me about this a long time ago. It's got to have been 20 years ago, and I haven't really thought of it since, until you brought it up now. Funny, since I'm really craving a bag of plain flat potato chips. I'll go get one at the store tomorrow, and when I do, I'll look for a wish chip.
