When the cooling fan comes on, can you hear it whirring? What works for me is cleaning out the laptop with compressed air. Take the back of the laptop off (careful because there are a lot of screws) and blow out all the dust with the can of compressed air. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself (and a lot of people are not) maybe you could get a computer savvy friend to do it for you. After doing this my laptop doesn't overheat or get really hot anymore and it is extremely silent.

You can purchase a can of compressed air in any computer store. My husband actually uses an air compressor but that tends to be a stronger method and I let him do it as he knows how to work it. You can also try blowing the dust out. If you can see the dust accumulating in the fan then it is time to clear the dust out ;)

yeah if you have a fan in your room then have it so it hits your laptop everynow and then, dont put it flat on the table if you have a laptop stand use it as it allows space between your laptop fans and the air. This will stop your laptop gettin too hot, they sell laptop stands on amazon i think there not too expensive.

hi there, well i used to have the same problem that you have. Well there are actually a few things that i did and maybe you can try them out too. Well firstly i actually try to position and myself and my laptop near the fan or a open area where i can actually get ventilation going or some sort of air circulation going. Apart from that i bought this two small ball looking thing that you actually put it under your laptop to give it a lift and it actually helps significatly in getting air going in. Apart from that there is also this cooling thing that you can buy from computer shops. Its just like a mini fan that fits under your laptop it is connected via USB port and it is very effective. Well another thing which i used to do is whenever it becomes hot i try to let it cool down by just leaving it alone or switch on the airconditioner that i have in my room. Anyway have a nice day, and happy mylotting. best regards, alvingb

Hi molter, Laptop is easily become hot because there is no space inside. What I can suggest to you is buy cooling pad. There is a lot of cooling fan available. There are many type of cooling pad you can choose. Its help me a lot to make my laptop a bit cool on hot day. If you use your laptop at home, you can use your table fan and point it to your laptop.

Hi. You could try using a laptop cooling fan. It's just a little stand with two or three suction fans which draw away the heat from the laptop. All the best!

Hey, The way I cool down my laptop is that I have a setting that lets me put my laptop in a 'power saving' mode. Then I set it to only use %20 of the CPU, and it is the CPU that makes your computer heat up. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

If you use the laptop with electric supply, can take off the battery, one factor that turns hot the laptop. One matter, If electric supply fails, the laptop turn off.

One of the things you can do is check and see if your fan is working on your CPU. If you don't hear that revving up from a little motor, then you might want to take it someone and get it checked out. But if you leave your laptop on and don't give it time to rest for awhile, then you might be wearing down the battery which can cause it to overheat. You might consider just getting another battery if the fan is running fine.
