do you risk driving when you are drunk?

lots of accident happened when people are drunk because certain people think that their used to be drunk and driving while drunk is a no matter for them. it is also because they are experienced driver that can simply avoid crash. my mom gave me an advice ; wait for at least 1-2 hours after getting drunk then start driving. i'm not saying that getting drunk is a good thing but IF you were drunk please don't risk your life. can you drive while you are drunk?
