I have to admit that i'm a late eater. I have to eat before I go to bed and I'm not much of a sleeper.
Well, last night, I was just hunger. So at quarter to 2 this morning I had a big fat hamburger on a bagel. It was wonderful. I bit heavy, but it filled the void.
Do you late night snack or do you feel quilty about it afterwards?

Quite often when I try to go to sleep, and like wise I'm not much of a sleeper, if I fail to drop off I will usually end up having a quick snack whilst doing something rather than getting frustrated by not going to sleep. Usually it's a slice of plain toast or a ham sandwich. Never had a hamburger as a midnight snack although I have been known to have left over takeaway pizza at about 3 in the morning, lol.

Oh left over pizza doesn't last too long around here either
But you can always justify that by saying you just had a very early breakfast! LOL

i don;t have habit of eating snacks in late night. once i have eaten boiled groundnuts ,when i got too hungry one day when i am in my mentrual cycle. in mentrual days ,i get more hungry ,than in normal days. so one day ,i have wake up at late night (at 2.30 i think),i have eaten that boiled groundnuts ,just one cup only and it filled my stomach and i went to sleep after that. other than that day ,i didn;t eat any thing in other days any snacks.but i eat snacks in evenings only.
i didn;t feel guilty that day,as i am too hunger that day when i was wake up at that late night. when i told to this matter to my husband next day,he laughed at me and told me ,not to eat him if i am hungry any other day.

LOL - that's funny. I don't feel bad about having something either. I figure our bodies tell us what we need so there isn't any harm in it.

I used to be, I used to love nothing more than snacking late at night. Before I got married I would go to bed with crisps and chocolate and whatever book I was reading and have a feast and it was the best thing I enjoyed to do! Of course that all stopped when I got married but also I now have IBS which means that I cannot eat after a certain time or it makes me ill! Shame, but at least I am not putting weight on at night anymore!!

Sorry about the IBS, it's life changing, this I know. I do understand the older we get it isn't the healthiest for us. I still snack at night and don't have any guilt from it. I sleep better after alittle something in there.

That is what I should be doing. I've cut out a lot of red meats, no chips, no breads so maybe it's my system thinking it needs a treat later at night. ???

I really am not a late night snacker - unless I didnt have enough to eat during the day!
One of the ways I prevent myself from snacking all of the time is to make sure I get enough fiber each day. Fiber and protein really help keep you feeling full.
I used to snack A LOT late at night. But now, I make sure I plan my meals so that I dont need to snack. It has really helped me lose weight so I dont think I will ever go back!

I don't feel quilty for eating late at night. My worst time is weekends. I am very bad at sleeping so when I don't have to be up for work in a morning I go to bed between 3 and 4am. Therefore if I've had my tea at 8pm it's no surprise that I'm hungry at midnight or after is it?
So I don't really go to bed on a full stomach as I try and eat an hour before or go to bed at the latest, unless I've been to the pub and need to eat something.
I'm a bit careful though with what I eat and try and not eat anything greasy or bigger then a snack. Although I've been known to eat a bacon butty.
