hi myLoters!
how many times in a day do you experience power cuts or load sheding..? once the current stops flows it seems as if life becomes stagnant. at our place the we face very rare current failures but we have come to understand that there are places that face power failure of more than 24 hours at a stretch... such conditions are difficult to manage... even invertors don't help during these hours...
wondering what is the situation of electic supply at your place...?

Well here in Calcutta the situation has improved quite a lot during the past few years. I remember the 80s when loadshedding was a matter of our daily lives...the evenings were a nightmare, specially because I was still at school and I had to study in candlelight or lanterns. The situation was so bad that ultimately mom had to buy an inverter.
Right now, the worst we had was last week when because of the recent storm Aila, a lot of trees fell on electric polls and we went without power for almost two days...without water (the pumps were not working) in this heat, it was a harrowing experience.
