Today is the first day of Hurricane Season until November. This is the time of season that everyone in the southern states and country dreads. Our first tropical depression had formed on May 28 in the Atlantic. Forecaster in the U.S. has predicted, for the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season, 12 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes. I hope and pray that these storms don't cause too much harm and disaster. We all remember the deadly storms over the years such as Ike, Katrina, Gustav, Alma, and Paloma. They had caused so much damage and deaths. Many are still trying to rebuild from Katrina here in Louisiana. And many Texans are still rebuilding from Ike. Over the weekend was a sales tax free Hurricane Preparedness weekend. We was able to buy hurricane supplies tax free. Me and my family stocked up on all size batteries, battery operated fans, flashlights, and spot lights. I pray and hope that we all make it through this Hurricane season. Are you in a Hurricane zone? Have you bought any supplies yet? Are you prepared? What do you do to prepare yourself for a Hurricane?

Yeah, I live in the Hurricane Zone. I have been through quite a few. Some on dry land and some while sailing in the Caribbean. I don't know which was more exciting. I think the sailboat was more exciting. I have always been prepared. I never underestimate the power of Mother Nature. But, I am never frightened either. I enjoy that wild adrenaline rush. I would have been really scared to be on the Caribbean during a Hurricane. I don't mess with Mother Nature.
